Wrong starting projects

When I start I new game, my available buildings are wrong. I'm starting with all defaults, and when I try to build my first things on earth, I can't build farms. Only, "Entertainment Network" "Innovation complex" "Market Center" "Research Lab" and "Traditional Factory" A lot of those are high level buildings, but I don't even have the basics. \

It was a paint getting this game to even launch with out crashing, and I can't even get it to accept my CD key, so I'm just playing with out it. Anyone know what gives?

Sounds like you're playing TA.  That's to be expected for the Terran tree-and none of those, save the innovation complex, are high level, and it's a one-off.  I thought I remembered at least basic farms being available, but that may have just been DL/DA.

Actually, research lab may be one higher than you ought to have naturally, but if xeno research is one of your starting techs that would explain it.  It's been some time since I've played TA, so I'm not 100% positive, though.
