The REAL Chatroom

The REAL Chatroom

Or alternative Chatroom

Ok, so I decided to create a new Chatroom, because the old one was getting pretty....old!  ;P

Everyone may post here, as well as in the good'ol Flameroom...I mean, Chatroom *_*

I would like to keep this Chatroom civilized. Well, as civilized as most forum threads are (doesnt mean that you all have to be polite like Oatesy, lol).

So for this reason, I may update the OP of this thread in the future, posting certain thread rules, as I see fit.

For now though, post away, and everyone is welcome! :)

Happy Birthday everyone.

What's with this? My birthday is in 7 days.

Is there anyone who doesn't have a birthday in July or August?

I've a friend who's birthday is the 24th of December.

Her younger sister was born the 31st of the same.

It was meant in jest, as I am sure that you are aware.

I have 8 siblings who were born in (respectively):

February

March

April

May

June

July (This one was born this year.)

September

December

My younger sister was born in November.

But meh, just wanted to poke fun at the comment really.

Also, who else thinks that Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction is teh winzorz? I've been playing the 30-minute trial that OnLive offers (OnLive is awesome for me ATM, as I haven't the hardware to play quite a few newer/higher-end games).

I don't have a computer to play games on...

:'( my old one died... Mayitrestinpieces.

My brother is 13 and his birthday is on December 12th

My sister is 10 and her birthday is december 11th

Lets just say that a lot of arguing  is an understatement.

Got it, finished it.

Play it on the highest difficulty, enjoy it while it lasts, and make sure you've got a friend to play the co-op with.

It's got a great story and all, but the only bit I'd replay is the Washington DC sequence.

Anyway, pick it up cheap, and enjoy.

I'd say this about my HP, but.................

I really, really, hated it towards the end of its life. Now, the destiny of my HP laptop computer is set to be:

1) MAGNET POWAH!!1! against the HDD. Because if there's anything of mine left, it's effectively irretrievable and, ergo, useless. And I don't want anyone toying with my stuff.

2) DA TRASH MONSTAH!!1! will eat the device. Unless I decide to take it apart.........though I will need to recover the RAM chips in it, as IIRC they are aftermarket upgrades, and the original RAM chips are in a drawer somewhere around the house.

That's fine. RTS games are great fun......and, ironically IMO, generally have lesser requirements than some FPSes.

Oh, my favorite part is the Deniable Ops mode......granted, I rather despise OnLive right now for not allowing me to save my progress........but they do have to make a buck, so meh.

I'll probably tag it on Steam, once I get my new lappy.

Interesting.......generally, I can make it through the Deniable Ops missions on my own pretty well.

Side note Oatesy- what's your preferred loadout in Splinter Cell for Deniable Ops?

I find that I really like either the MP-446+MP7A1, or the Walther+MP7A1. The former's better for stealth, but the latter can be more fun..........and you get more Marks to start with on the Walther.

I loved my Lenovo to the end. I cannot sacrifice its useless shell to the landfills.

It decided to fail utterly and completely one day. Curses.

I am thinking about buying another Thinkpad, as I have had good experiences with them, but if they are not optimized for what I need I may just end up buying something else...

Sorry about inconsistency, I got about 5 hours of sleep last night...

This computer!

Well see, that's the difference. You loved your Lenovo till it died. I, OTOH, rather despised my HP at the end of its life.

This is why I am happy that I migrated back to my 5-year-old Toshiba Satellite before the HP had the chance to fully die.

As I noted before, Toshiba's new Qosmio series is gaming-designed; a good 1/1.5 GB memory discrete graphics solution is available on all models. I personally prefer the Satellite A660 series, for the simple reason of price (it's cheaper*), it has a 1GB discrete graphics card, and is also suitable for all the gaming needs I foresee for myself.

I got around 6-7 hours, and then had my first job interview. Working world, here I come!

Also, building up money for my knew A660-series will be very, very nice.

*This is important as I am planning to buy a MacBook Pro for a friend. Complete with Apple's topline professional sound editing software.

........

Yes, I still dislike Macs a great deal. But they do do a handful of things really well. It doesn't hurt that said friend is already very familiar with Apple's GarageBand application, which uses the same engine as their (Apple's) professional sound editing solutions.

Writer's block, lethargy, friends, emotional shellshock, reading, slightly pissed-off at the crappiness of Rama II, in addition to my job and other, more important, responsibilities around the house all account for it.

End of CmdrNilles's quote

I'm off the hook whenever, and for however long, I feel like. I'm under absolutely NO obligation to write, and publish, fanfiction for the readership of anyone. I have far more important obligations and responsibilities than the hobby, for that IS what this is, of writing fanfiction- most notable among them a job, daily tasks to be done around the house, and friends.

EDIT: Thought I'd also note that I can chop off either, or both, fics at any time I wish- and let them die, or at the very least lay dormant. ATM, I don't like the idea- both are unfinished, and The Proof of Zeal in particular has a very open future.
