The REAL Chatroom

The REAL Chatroom

Or alternative Chatroom

Ok, so I decided to create a new Chatroom, because the old one was getting pretty....old!  ;P

Everyone may post here, as well as in the good'ol Flameroom...I mean, Chatroom *_*

I would like to keep this Chatroom civilized. Well, as civilized as most forum threads are (doesnt mean that you all have to be polite like Oatesy, lol).

So for this reason, I may update the OP of this thread in the future, posting certain thread rules, as I see fit.

For now though, post away, and everyone is welcome! :)

I have lots of things to do, I just make sure I devote a little time to the forums every now and then.

I've been on study leave recently, so there's been a lot of now and thens, but for the last three days I've been hiking through horizontal rain with everything I need for three days on my back in the little piece of shit we over here like to call Wales.

You're lucky beyond belief, sir. You should capitalize on this romantic inclination, in such a manner that results in a romantic relationship, thus, just perhaps, providing you with happiness and companionship.

Well, I saw Transformers 3 yesterday and it was good. It actually had a twist that surprised me, but why can Autobots never seem to die while decepticons always do. Especially the awesome decepticons >:(

Whiskey, question, though you lot could answer as well.

Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch, Slaanesh, or Chaos Undivided.

Which would you follow and why?

End of Oatesy03's quote

Funnily enough, I actually chatted with someone about this, though I neglected Chaos Undivided. I'll start in a somewhat random order.

Slaanesh: NO. JUST NO. The enormity of the deviancy of Slaaneshi preferences is.....extremely distasteful to myself.

Nurgle: NO. JUST NO. In this case, it's just because I consider Nurgle to be exceedingly disgusting and nasty. I also like girls, and seducing a female to myself and Chaos would be absurdly difficult if I payed homage to Nurgle.

Tzeentch: I've always rather liked Tzeentch, less the convoluted mutations bits. Though I'm not proud of it, in earlier times I was a bit of a chronic liar....which I don't recommend by the way. Tzeentch rather fits me well, if I do say so myself.

Khorne: TBH, I think I could pull of Khorne rather well. Especially Blood Pact-style Khorne, i.e. MAIM KILL BURN with a plan.

Chaos Undivided: Since you mentioned it, this is probably the one I'd go with; it offers most of the benefits of Chaos with none of the things I particularly dislike about specific patronage of the Four Gods.

There you have it.

Also, I'll reiterate this since no one answered: has anyone read any books in Michael Grant's GONE series? I've read the first and have recently received my Amazon-purchased copy of the second in the series.

I'd probably have to agree on that. Only the weak minded are drawn in by the idea of everything being orgasmic, especially when you consider that, like a drug, it'll get old after a while.

Have to disagree. Your sole loss is your physical appearance. I'm certainly no narcissist, so that'd be bareable for the trade-offs, eg being near-unkillable, no longer fearing death, and the best bit, having a chaos god who actually cares for your wellbeing (especially seeing as you become immune to the negatives of the infections you acquire).

It's interesting, but the likelihood of getting wiped off the board regardless of personal prowes for the sake of a little just as planned isn't so appealing.

This guy comes in second of the lone gods after Nurgle. The pros are... well none really, unless you count becoming a murderous uncontrollable psychopath as a benefit. However, the negatives are pretty low too. Khorne may not care if you die, but he isn't out to kill you like Tzeentch might be.

End of Whiskey144's quote

That all depends on how good you are at playing the game. Only downside of CU is that there's nobody to help you if a god decides they don't like you. Meanwhile, Nurgle, Slaanesh (so long as you're keeping he/she/it high), Khorne (so long as your killing spree has more blood and gore potential than your death) and Tzeentch (so long as it fits in with the plan) will try to keep you alive if you're devoted to them.

I suppose it also depends on who you are. If I were a rogue Space Marine I'd have to go with Nurgle. Adding to an already formidable physique sure would be appealing, and the simple fact is that Space Marines aren't that concerned with appearance anyway. After that I'd still go for Khorne.

If I were a mere human cultist or traitor guardsmen, I would probably be going for either a Chaos Undivided warband, as I would be too unimportant to attract the attention of a god, or going for a Tzeentch approach, seeing as if I were striding out on my own in that way it's best to take your chances with limitless power or death as part of the plan, because otherwise you're looking at a sudden death as part of someone else's plan.

Indeed; in fact, the "sensations get old after a while"/desensitizing effects of Slaaneshi patronage are actually something touched on in 40K canon; Noise Marines are noted to be incapable of hearing anything but their amplified weapons.

True, true. I actually hadn't considered that, and was simply listing off a couple of things that would make me a "Tzeentch-ey" fit.

Well.......it all depends on your outlook. It could be a great deal of fun being a murderous psychopath in the context of 40K (and in 40K mind you), especially if you get to be a "mini-Kharn", so to speak.

OTOH, I'm of the opinion that it's pretty easy to be of Chaos Undivided and also simultaneously not displease any of the Four Gods.

I'll also note that particularly devoted/useful servants of any of the Four Gods can and will be allowed to die if absolutely necessary...........the caveat being that said servant will later be resurrected. Kharn and Abaddon are prime examples, whilst Lucius the Eternal is a lesser, but somewhat more interesting, example.

I'm going to keep quoting myself with this until someone says whether or not they've read it. Keep in mind: I'M NOT LOOKING FOR ADVICE/REVIEWS! I'm only looking for whether or not you've read the series (there's even a delicious Wikipedia link!), and if you have read it, then I'll probably ask what you thought about it.

So please Chatroom readers, PLEASE ANSWER.

End of Whiskey144's quote

I've decided that companionship and romance aren't things that can make me happy... solitude and contempt work marvelously. However, I have decided to get intimate with this girl. For one, she (allegedly) has eyes for my ex (both of them are bi, both of them dated eachother prior to getting involved with me. I suspect their mutual feelings for me caused the break-up, but I can't be sure, neither of them talk about it.) so, I've decided to do a favor for my ex and make it so that she can date and flirt freely without having to worry about how she feels. Secondly, this girl says she's liked me since 9th grade (three years... not much, compared to the seven I've liked my ex, but I know how it feels,) so I've also decided to heal her broken heart...and possibly be entertained by her Wiccan beleifs while I'm at it. Both her and my ex are Wiccan, so I figure it's something worth trying out. She's already had me read by her friend... with some unusually accurate results, given her friend and I have never directly met.

Some pro's about dating this girl:

1) She fits my second-favorite taste for girls, so there's already some kind of attraction.

2) Despite her small stature (she stands about 5'1" or so, and weighs a little less than me at 110), her breasts have swelled... she and I agree she'll be a solid D cup come Valentine's Day next year.

3) As already mentioned, Wicca interests me. It's the only Pagan religion I know of that's practiced locally, so it'll be different from the normal Christianity/Islamic scene.

4) Since I don't actually like her, dating her will be excellent practice for being a player in College.

Cons:

1) The drama associated with her. Problems at home, the two black guys (one of whom has already challenged me to a fistfight. Punk ass bitch didn't have the balls the next day to go at it), and one of her exes have feelings for her, and then there's the fact that her closest friends are my ex (it'll be awkward being intimate with another girl around her when she's still single... my ex before her took almost a year and a half to find another bf), and her other friend hates me for breaking her heart.

2) My parents already don't approve of her. Won't be an issue once I get off my ass and get my liscence, but still.

3) I still honestly have feelings for my ex... she's over me, by far (I'm her "emotional tampon" as morpheas liked to say, so she's already come to me asking about what to do about her bi crush who hasn't come out of the closet yet. I'm sorry to say I didn't act in time, and her crush has a boyfriend now...), so I'm doing everything I can to find someone better than myself for her. Idk if she's noticed or not, but I do get really pissed off whenever she gets herself into a compromising situation, or if she falls for someone who's bad for her.

meh.

To answer your question, Whiskey, I havn't read the series. I'd get into it, if the main characters weren't 14... recently I'm becoming alot more aware of my age, and I get depressed thinking about it. :annoyed:

How is being a teenager the "high point" of life? I consider it to be "preparing for the high point". To tell truth, the "high point" of life, to me, is, if I had to quantify it, 20-30 years of age. Not because "lolz, booz 'n' gunz 'n' drugz", but because that's the time that a person is effectively able to to whatever they wish.

They have responsibilities, yes, but they also have unparalleled freedom compared to the teenage years. My high school years weren't particularly noteworthy in the least. But I still enjoyed them and also look forward with far greater eagerness to my early 20s than I ever did towards high school.
