That being said, mostly I just really want to beat the crap out of punchbag, because he rubs me the wrong way with his "I own her" attitude. Also, WRT "break her heart, I break you", well, she's my closest (nigh-on only) friend right now. I have the same view WRT some boy asking my sister out- he breaks her heart, I break him. Probably his face.

I already suggested that you shouldnt (nor do you need to) use violence on this matter. As for the "break her heart, I break you" part, I am with you on this 100%. I would do the same thing, both on the guitar friend and sister parts.
But punchbag? I think I might go the extra mile and break something more noticeable. Just to rub it in that he's a worthless sack of spoiled shit. IMO, of course.
WRT "taking punchbag out"- I'm going to straight-up say that, if he hadn't made the whole "back of to let her grow" comment, I'd have no problem with him. I wouldn't enjoy his presence, but neither would I shun him. Now, I want to beat his face in. But you're right- there are other, more indirect, and thus arguably more satisfying, methods.
This will totally turn into a "JUST. AS. PLANNED." moment.

I consider what I'm about to say both a really good and really bad thing, but quite honestly I don't think there's anyone at the church I attend who could be as clever, cunning, malicious, and devious as myself. I think that's really good because if/when a time comes that requires an individual with those qualities, I can and will step up.
But it's a very harsh burden to bear sometimes. It isn't a pleasant thing to know that one simply doesn't care if they have to do horrible things to another human being- but sometimes that is what's needed.
