Vessel Commander’s Report, Flagship Vessel IDS It’In. Commander Kilros i’Vaxon speaking.
We have just made contact with a previously unknown sub-species.

They have identified themselves as the “Dark Yor”, apparently some sort of offshoot of the Yor that we have encountered in the past. The Dark Yor appear weaker than their original species, but are not altogether weak, having colonized several planets. My strategic analysis officer has prepared a more detailed threat assessment and will transmit it shortly.
Additionally, we have detected an unusual space-time distortion several parsecs away. We believe it to be a transversible wormhole. After discussion we have decided to enter it. However, analysis indicates the wormhole is only partially stable, and contact may be lost after entry. If necessary the crew will enter deep-stasis should we end up in an unknown sector.

Lord Quoxath and Lord Kona
Quoxath: The situation appears to be growing serious. With contact lost with the flagship vessel IDS It’In, we are no longer able to acquire resources from anomalies. My clan’s economy is on the verge of collapse. I am deeply concerned.
Kona: I can tell. How serious, exactly, is the situation?
Quoxath: Clan Quoxath includes the majority of colonists on our new worlds. In order to keep immigrating to those worlds, we must keep morale high. Under Imperial Law no free Drengin can be forced to relocate against its will, and a colony composed mostly of slaves will not succeed. As the Torian Incident taught us –
Kona: I am aware of what the Torian Incident taught us, Lord Quoxath. However, your clan’s immigration difficulties are threatening the economy of the entire empire.
Quoxath: But I – what do we do?
Kona: I have taken the advice of the merchant clans, who recommended we halt all construction of space vessels for now. Our principal efforts will be establishing civilization on these new planets, and focusing our efforts on ending the crisis. It will not take long for Drengin ingenuity to develop a more stable economy.
Quoxath: As you say. I am hopeful this plan will succeed.

I’ve just received information from the colonial governor of Dilworth III. An unknown vessel was detected entering the system during local night.

It attempted no communications and didn’t initiate any form of contact. A number of preliminary scans were attempted, but to no avail. The vessel’s hull apparently repels our sensors. However, one fact was noted: the hull composition appears to be organic.
In addition, during the vessel’s time in the system, a number of our more psychically gifted individuals reported feelings of unease and in some cases, sleeping difficulties. Other citizens who picked up on these disturbances reported a decidedly “nauseous” feeling to the ptaste. Overseers indicated that both sapient and non-sapient slavelings experienced similar reactions.
Thus far we’ve drawn no conclusions on what it was. However, the general feeling is clear: there may be far greater dangers out here then simply the sub-species we’ve met.
