My elementary school sucked hard at math and science.  I discovered this when I was taking the eighth grade advanced math class in seventh grade and didn't know what pi was, how the hell did I get there you ask?  I have no fucking clue, genius is a mysterious thing.  My high school had the lowest literacy rate in the city, junior high wasn't much better.

I'm an individual, I had a post college graduate reading level by the sixth grade.  I got there by reading books from the library.  My skin color didn't encourage me to check out books, my parents and teachers did.  Well, mostly, one of my teachers called my parents down for an emergency intervention because I was reading too much instead of spending time with my family, but she was really stupid.

If your parents suck and don't encourage you to learn, your parents suck.  If your school sucks and doesn't encourage you to learn, mine did shockingly enough, then maybe you should get off your knees long enough to look at who supports all those union run monopolies we have pretending to be educational districts.

You wont find a private school being run by the hoodlums instead of the teachers, and you wont find a public school in that condition if the parents sending their kids to school there give a shit enough to make a stink about it.  If a place like Harlem wants to clean their schools up, it wouldn't take a week to do it.  It's real easy, you just expel everyone that causes problems, arrest them for trespassing if they show up again.  Light a fire under your school board and they'll do it.  They like their cushy government jobs.
