How do i get my cheats to work?

I tried adding the word "cheat" to the end of the shortcut target, but that didn't work. People keep talking about a parameter or something. I don't know what that is. What am I doing wrong?

Make sure the shortcut is to the actual game .exe, and not to the launcher.
