How to see Planet Types ?

Hi,

i just bought GalCiv II Ultimate.

How do i see the Type of a Planet (Waterworld, Toxic, Radioactive.....) BEFORE i research the Techs to Colonize them ?

Before researching colonizing Techs i only see the Planets as Class 0 on the Map. After researching i can see the Icons

on the Planets revealing their Type (Waterworld, Toxic, Radioactive.....)

But it would be of great Help knowing the Types of Planets before starting research.

I.E. if i have a lot of Waterworlds in my Territory it makes more sense researching "Waterworld".

But i can't find out how to see a Planets Type.

Maybe someone can help.

cheers

In Dark Avatar, I can see the icon before I get any tech.  IIRC, I can get the planet info more than one way.  I am not at my game pc right now, but IIRC, I can even see it on the main galaxy screen.  Maybe right click on the planet?  I do it so unconsciously after so many games that I cannot recall for sure!

I have not played ToA, so maybe it is different.

The icons definitely do appear on the map before you research the tech, and on the planet info popup. This sounds like something of a glitch. I would look in the game folder (it's in C:/ProgramFiles/Stardock Games) for pictures in GFX/Overlays with names like Gravity_Red, Aquatic_Red, Barren_Red, and so on. If these don't exist, have funny names, or are blank, that would cause this sort of problem (if they didn't crash the game outright).

First of all,

thanks for answering.

I guess i simply assumed that every Planet can be colonized by researching the proper tech.

Obviously i played way too much MOO2. Sorry my fault !

So, only planets with icons can be colonized.
