Corrupt Ship in Tactical Display

First, let me say I'm no artist and I'm NOT fond of the designer for numerous reasons.

Second, Is there a way to change a component's angle by numerical entry instead of the radial button, e.g 5 degrees?

Now the Bug, problem.

What do I do? I designed a ship. I built said ship. It looked fine. I upgraded the ship design to update the armor. I upgraded the already built ship. Next turn I found the thumbnail of the newly upgraded design in the Shipyard was corrupt. The ship as displayed in the tactical map was similarly corrupt. It also included components that I did not design into the ship.

I reloaded before the ship was built. I upgraded the design to make some changes and re-saved as template, overwriting the original. The thumb was corrupt and eventually the ship build was also corrupt. It too had components that I did not choose.

Just another reason to dislike the ship designer. Any suggestions?
