Making ships appear larger

I'm not a fan how close Huge and Large ships appear in the combat viewer, and after looking around the best info I could find on it was ships are scaled to the size hull it is (Huge, Large, Medium, etc.), is there any way to increase the size that a Huge hull is scaled to?

Sorry, the scaling factors are within the game's code and cannot be modified.

Well, I think you could change the models.... if you're willing to shell out a couple hundred bucks for a program capable of importing them.....
