New stuff or just missions?

Try as i might, I can't find jack online about what's new in Diplomacy, aside from, you know. The diplomatic side of things. Are there new ships/abilities/structures, etc? Or is it -literally- just an overhaul of the relations bit?

I can't afford it yet,n but I want to know what's coming.

the only new ships are the Envoys, which are critical to have in order to do the higher pacts (which are cool and need to be researched) even with locked teams

there is new research tree which gives you access to lots of diplomactic stuff (like giving missions and pacts)

and the relation system has been overhauled

word of warning though: The Pirates are O P . suggest one of the degraded pirates mods (we turned them down in DS) or just shutting them off

Wimp, the new pirate system is great I wish in the last up-date they hadn't weakened them I think that one of the best up-grades to a game and I do mean any game that was ever put that and Pirate Mission mode with that infinite up-grade ability those who use and control the pirates become the almost unstopple. I just think the DS team doesn't know how to use the pirates correctly or are just wimpy about Pirates

Ah, thank you. I tend to prefer the "tactical" side to things, rather than the diplomatic. :) Chancesare I might not get this expansion. Not for a while, at least :)

Yeah, thats why we put in a powerful pirates mini mod for those who (like myself) don't mind uber pirates (makes Pirates Dip v1.00 look like marshmellows)

yeah, not as much tactically was offered. the only things worthwhile on that end are the pacts (weapons cooldown, armor upgrades, etc.) but still worth a look and the $10

Woah, it's only ten bucks? I was under the impression that somehow it was more in the "Sixty" range. That probably was the bundle. x.x Anway, once I get the contents of my wallet replaced (Yay robbery!) I'll look into it ;)

It's probably a good addition if you only play it in single player against the AI.

If you play it in online multiplayer against human opponents it doesn't add that much to the game and many Diplomacy games don't feel too different from Entrenchment games.  I guess the biggest change is that you need to do two pieces of research to feed credits and minerals to your allies, one Level 1/2 and one Level 3 civic-labs-based research.  The pacts can play a role in the multiplayer game but I don't think it's a particularly spectacular addition.  If you do play online and you already have Entrenchment then you need to consider getting Diplomacy because it seems like most of the online regulars have moved to Diplomacy.
