Government Tech

DL v1.53

When I research Interstellar Republic I get 20% economic bonus.

When I research Star Democracy I get 20% economic bonus.

When I research Star Federation I get 20% economic bonus.

I have wondered about that for several games and decided to research it on the Wiki site. Lo and behold, it should be 10%, 20% and 30% respectively. Also, its not clear whether this economic bonus is accumulated or not. Does the annual notification indicate the bonus is maintained or added in on top of last years bonus?

If you go to "Stats & Graphs" you'll need to pay a look on the "Economic" line - this will give you the correct current civ-wide (racial) bonus.

You mean, the bi-anual for the votes? It's maintained.

FYI the UN is the anual.

Thanks Mainden. I'm confused by the Stats & Graph screen. Never sure what exactly I'm looking at, but I'll see if i can find what you are referring to. At least the bi-annual notification text is erroneous.

I found on the Stats & Graph screen that my economic bonus is 86%

Is it correct to assume without "interstellar republic" it would be 76%?

I'm not a maximizer, so I've never looked hard at the numbers. But I am sure that your econ bonus increases every time you adopt a 'higher' form of government (researching is not enough, you have to apply the new gov form to get the econ bonuses).

In my current game, I recently switched to Star Federation. The income bump was substantial.

I don't know the cheat codes, but if there's one that makes all techs available immediately, you could use the Stats & Graphs tab to answer your question by checking your econ bonus before and after you apply each step 'up' the govs ladder.

Actually you don't need cheat codes to backcheck that. You can transform back to the imperial form and then look at the Stats & Graphs again, in fact, you can revert this on the same turn, of course.

If you wanna find out how you got these 76/86 completely simply open your Tech tree and control which Econ-enhancing techs are already researched. Next, the governmental form does add to it, and probably your racial points spend. If you got some minor 1% or 2% etc difference then this is due to anomalies.

One thing. After researching Interstellar Rep/Democracy/Federation the game is always prompting you to change to this form. Of course you'll take this offering always. And it should stay there, but if you play with the autosave-feature, then be cautious and control (after reloading) if the governmental form is still the most up-to-date.
