(Never mind the instructions that were here: they wouldn't work anyway and are pretty time-consuming)

If you give me the version of the game, I will also create an actual mod for you.

Sounds like a game glitch. Have you used any other mods successfully?

yes I have used my one mod but I placed it in the default folder to make it work... and now when I update the save of my mod it dosen't apply to any new games.

The save problem is caused by the fact that mods are saved with the game data: they don't update until you start a new game. You need to change your mod use window back to the original mod for it tobe used. As for the folder problem, can you describe the game program folder to me? I don't actually have ultimate edition.

This is the file structure

C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\Galactic Civilizations II - Ultimate Edition\Mods\Default\My Mods\Data\ShipComponents

and I know that mods don't apply until a new game is started...

The Default\My Mods folder looks like the problem. Unzip the downloaded folder directly into C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock Games\Galactic Civilizations II - Ultimate Edition\Mods . That will probably solve any saving wierdness as well.

That trick didn't work...

Oh dear..... I'm running out of tricks. You said you had a mod that worked. Can you go into the mod folder and open the XML with the name of the mod and paste the contents in here?

Sure

Sure Here it is... Actually could I e-mail it to you? I don't know how to properly put it here it makes the page long and loads slow...
