Is it harmless? It represents a virtualization of something ethically wrong, killing beings. What's the difference between killing people in a video game and killing people in real life? I can say that intelligences are not being extinguished in a video game, but there are those who argue that people who do virtualized activities tend to be desensitized to its counterpart in reality.

I play video games because I need some kind of a stress reliever. My conscience decrees that video games are a waste of time. Are they? Yes! I could be wasting my time on something else, or doing something else productive, but the fact that I chose to do that specific activity only has an impact on me, hopefully.

Playing Halo and Christmas have two things in common, the choice to do them only really has an impact on you. It's harmless if it doesn't hurt you in any possible way. It's difficult to tell if they are harming you in the short-run, as only time will tell.

Who knows what could happen.
