Research Problems

Research Problems

I just recently purchased this game, and I am quickly getting frustrated with a few issues, mainly research.  I keep going into the research section & selecting certain things, and see at the bottom that it says it is researching the last thing I clicked on.  I know it can research multiple areas because I have had it tell me that research has been completed on multiple items in the same turn, but when I go back to check on progress of other items, I see that research had stopped on those.  Is there a correlation to the color coding that you can only research 1 item of each color at any given time?  If that is it than why is it that sometimes it will be the only item of a certain color that gets dropped out of research?  Other times, I will complete research on a certain tech and the next message, in the same turn, will tell me that I completed the next thing in that branch on the tech tree.

Hi!

Somehow, the wiki has very few updates for TA

One of the reasons for that is I haven't bought TA (yet). I avoid posting to wiki facts I can't check with the game.

You do the right thing, Iztok. I am hoping you get the TA soon. It's worth it, IMO. If nothing else, the unique tech trees will give you loads of more options and play time :)

I have noticed a glitch with this website.  When displaying a thread, it shows last reply info which includes the last person to post, but the date/time entry refers to the original post.

TA is definitely worth it.  Aside from the obvious differences, it has some really cool additions/features within the interface.  Mainly, the tech tree view is much more informative, but there are some other things that are really nice as well.  It does take a while to get a handle on the unique tech trees though.  Even so, I have not had any desire to go back and play DL or DA.

Hi!

Good seems to be a complete waste to me.

If you're playing for metaverse points, that's true. But if you're playing for fun, then not trying the good path will make you miss one interesting aspect of the game.

AFAIK the best score submitted to the MV was under the "Good Alignement".

If you've noticed, the game version was TotA. In that version the Mind Control Center was fixed -  now it doesn't give 100% bonus to econ like it did in DA. With DA if you wanted a shot at really high scores, you simply MUST've picked the Evil alignment. IIRC the best DA neutral result was ~700k.

In DA, Evil is the only way to roll...but not because of the MCC.  I'll trade the MCC for an econ boom.  I'm still trying to sort out if the MCC was fixed or FU in TA.
