Last person to post wins, unless they are a moderator or admin.

Basically, this game is played so that the last person who post wins. What do they win? The ThreadKiller's Achievement; The honor of being the last person to post by virtue of the content of their post. However, moderators, admins, and anyone else who has the ability to lock the thread are disqualified from winning the ThreadKiller's Achievement, if they win by locking. If the thread is won by method of locking, the "winner" gains the Achievement Of Reprehensible Epic Lameness.

this raises the question: Harpo, have you seen Total Recall?

which version? the book? the first movie or the second movie?

Well, the novelization by the same name is merely a book based on an earlier script of the movie. The movie was based on a story called "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale". There's a remake planned, but it's still in pre-production. There was also a television series which was an attempt at a prequel to the movie, but it was more like BladeRunner, which was based on "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" written by the same author as the story I named above.

I mean the movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I have it on dvd, and yes i did watch it, I also have the electric sheep book, and the novelisation of the swartzennigger movie.

what did you mean by second movie? the pre-production one I mentioned or do you count the Schwarzenegger film as the second? In which case, what is the first?

Total Recall is the first, Minority Report is the second.

the swartz is the first to my memory, and I remember seeing in the video stores a movie called total recall that did not have swartz in it, and I have NOT seen minority report.

minority report - remove the main actor (can't remember the losers name) and replace with someone better and the movie would be awesome

Minority Report was a story by the same author as We Can Remember It For You Wholesale, but it was in no way related. Even then, Total Recall is much different from the short story and so even if they were related, it would hardly appear so on the silver screen. If you're thinking of them in terms of being related via the original author, then Blade Runner comes first.

I can not help you with whatever you saw in the video store. Maybe the pilot to the series.

Minority Report would be better without Tom Cruise, but I feel that Steven Spielberg's treatment of science fiction in the past years has been fairly weak. I think he's burnt out his best work in the genre and, although his other films are often great, should retire from creating more science fiction.

No, I'm thinking of it in terms of when Philip K. Dick was writing the script for Minority Report, he gave the movie the title Total Recall 2 before changing it to Minority Report.
