Last person to post wins, unless they are a moderator or admin.

Basically, this game is played so that the last person who post wins. What do they win? The ThreadKiller's Achievement; The honor of being the last person to post by virtue of the content of their post. However, moderators, admins, and anyone else who has the ability to lock the thread are disqualified from winning the ThreadKiller's Achievement, if they win by locking. If the thread is won by method of locking, the "winner" gains the Achievement Of Reprehensible Epic Lameness.

I stumbled on this and I'm curious to know what you guys think of it. I personally don't see how it's "Deeply Disturbing"

What do you guys think?

....

For starters no one died in it so people are over reacting I think. Also this was released not leaked so It's been edited. At most this video simply shows a well oiled Dutch Marine team secure a ship from a hostile force without any(at least that we know of) casualties.

Sometimes I go over board with the things I post, if this video for some reason offends any of you just let me know.

Since no one even dies, much less in any grotesque way, it's as far from disturbing as you can get. In fact, it was pretty routine, all considered. As for the comment that it was like watching a FPS, it was a pretty crappy one. Hell, I wish Doom were that easy.

I don't think it's a big deal that footage like this is published, for a few reasons. 1) Not rated R. 2) People should monitor themselves and their children online anyway. 3) It's life, not some video made with the purpose of spilling lots of fake blood.

I've actually seen footage recovered from an Iraqi where his friend attempted to hit a UN APC with an RPG, forgetting that the projectile corkscrews, resulting in both of them getting liquified. If you slow it down, you can see the guy turning to goo, but no one said it was a big deal and the US soldier that recovered it, youtubed it.

I also support the use of headcams like this. I think that if all soldiers had monitoring equipment like they had in 'Aliens', I think monitoring ops from afar would be far more effective. I support it all.

The one thing I do worry about such a thing as this is the possibility of micro-managing by some numb skull that went through training but never in combat. Such a thing could cause more problems then solve. Overall its was not disturbing no. Just worrisome that some civilian will think he is brilliant and attempt to override the man on the spot because of what he sees through a camera.

No argument that there shouldn't still be a vetted sergeant leading the group, ready to belay orders when need be, but take Mogadishu for example: Commanders in charge of the operation, experienced ones, were only able to guide from satellite and helicopter feeds. That gave them tons of useful information, but was either overhead only or limited by safety conditions. They used it to their fullest, coordinating helicopter strikes and warning units of incoming hostiles. It didn't go off without a hitch, but ended far better than it would have without such information. Like any tool, one must employ it rationally and mindfully, but I see no problem in having the tool in place. If you want examples of useful tools and our screw ups using them, I have a laundry list.

Another point I forgot to make earlier: In the article, someone warned that this tech might make war trivial. First, we (the species) fight far fewer wars than we use to, thus war is moving in the opposite direction in practice. Second, protests have convinced me that real warfare is not taken lightly by those at the homestead. Third, if anything, video games trivialize war far more, yet I feel their impact has been minimal.

exactly, the leiutenant knew jack squat aside from training but Ripley knew what to do with experience, so the idea has merit but there needs to be the proper person overseeing the battle

Does the Doctor make a cameo in you Lore?
