Last person to post wins, unless they are a moderator or admin.

Basically, this game is played so that the last person who post wins. What do they win? The ThreadKiller's Achievement; The honor of being the last person to post by virtue of the content of their post. However, moderators, admins, and anyone else who has the ability to lock the thread are disqualified from winning the ThreadKiller's Achievement, if they win by locking. If the thread is won by method of locking, the "winner" gains the Achievement Of Reprehensible Epic Lameness.

Riot police were called to The Staples Center in L.A. to control riots that broke out after the Lakers won the NBA Finals. Betty Nguyen reports.
End of quote

Pure media bullshit to generate attention.

Actually riot police was called out before the game had even started.  Like I said before, the people outside were told they were part of an unlawful gathering once the game had started, the people told the police to fuck off, the police then elevated the force to try and disperse the crowd which resulted in bottles and rocks being thrown at them, which resulted in tear gas and more riot police, which resulted in people doing stuff like that.  It had nothing to do with the win.  If the Lakers had lost, the headlines would have read: "Riots in LA because the Lakers lost the championship"  It's pure bullshit.

I know, but its fun to Troll ya :troll:

My opinion:  If the story can be wrote the same way just changing the game's outcome, then it had nothing to do with the game's outcome.

Alright, don't start a riot over it. :P

Riot, Ryat!

Anyway, my karma is always the same, but as much or little as I have, it never lists the same number of names as it says people who gave me karma. Weird.

And I still don't know where the mexican comment came from.

1 KARMA NOW!

:'( :'( :'( :'(

HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN!?!??!
MORPHEAS DID IT!

Reply #5816 Top

Well, the Karma system sucks.  It only gives you the option of +1 but then gives the person 2.  The underlying issue isn't that you're gaining or losing Karma, it's that there are 4 servers used by the forums to handle the load.  The servers don't update at the same time forcing one to show one thing, and another to show something different.  Walnut 1 is typically the busiest and the most laggy, but it's almost always up to date.  Walnut 2 generally has no lag, but is always slow to update.  Walnut 3 is laggy and slow to update, and Walnut 4 only seems to come into play during peak hours.  Of course, this doesn't always hold true because if someone gives you Karma while connected to Walnut 2, Walnut 1 won't have the update right away, but once it does, Walnut 3 still wont have it.  That's why there's so much fluctuation to your points.  If you see the incorrect value, note the server at the bottom of the screen and refresh your browser.  When you see the correct value, note the server at the bottom and it will most likely be different.

thank you for that nice explanation of karma.

Just to mess things up, I will give you Karma.

Reply #5818 Top

yeah karma is crazy

Reply #5819 Top

They should figure something out.

Let's help them by sending them junk mail.

-edit-

I figgered out mah karma.

walnut1 = 3 karma

walnut2 = 1 karma

walnut3 = 5 karma

Reply #5820 Top

By that distribution it's fair to say that your two most recent gifts occurred on Walnut 3.  Enough time has passed that Walnut 1 updated for the one before today's gift, and slow ass Walnut 2 hasn't gotten the memo yet for any of them besides the original one, which is strange because it's been a long time since gift #2.

Also note that after some time it appears that the system syncs up and corrects the erroneous double Karma.  It won't drop you any, but it won't give you any either the next time you get some, and by that I mean you'll see an increase on the server that it was given on, but the others reject it and when everything updates properly the + goes away on that one server.

Every Karma I've been given has been doubled at the time it was given, yet over time I've lost 7 points of the phantom Karma, which is fine since I wasn't supposed to have it anyway, but it adds to some of the confusion and it's kind of a tease...  Like the girl at the end of the bar that eye fucks you until you buy her a drink and then she goes back to hanging out with her friends.
