Can't load game game--not finding valid ship ship class in AI

Deep in DA game in huge galaxy with 2 AI.  The last two days I have been having trouble loading saved games.  I can get going if I go back far enough but it is getting annoying.  The debug.err always says the following about the Altarians (one of the AIs) right at the end of file:

 

Debug Message:  Can't find ship type è'¼p€ÔDXT5 in definitions
Debug Message:  Ship Altarian Frigate M4 v9 8254 does not have a valid ship class in CalcTotalMoves. Setting moves to 0.
Ship Name: Altarian Frigate M4 v9 8254 Owner: 0

What language settings do you have for windows/the game?

English.  I am in US.  Do you want me to send in saved game debug.err?

You can zip up the save and send it in to [email protected] to have passed to the devs, but chances are something just got corrupted at some point if this is only happening in the one game (haven't heard any other reports of the same thing elsewhere).

Zipped and sent this afternoon.  It happened twice in the same game.  The second time after I reloaded an earlier file from the game and played for 3 hours, saving continuously.  After 2 1/2 hours, I got another corrupt save file that could not be reloaded.  Same debug.err message.  I may reload DA.  I am worried this may repeat itself though I have been playing DA for a year on the same computer without this problem.  Of course the versions of DA have changed.
