How did this make it on the shelves?

I just picked up the Ultimate Edition a few days ago and I'm rather disgusted with the performance I've been seeing. After all the time that Twilight has been out, this game should be running flawlessly. Yet I'm encountering so many crashes and glitches. The latest one being the Planetary Governor telling me that a name is already in use when it's not. The game breaker though is some races not appearing in any of my screens after being contacted. I've had to scrap several games now after spending a few hours for nothing. There's no way I should be having any of these issues, the game has been around long enough, and been played enough, that these things should not be appearing. I didn't have any of these problems with Dark Avatar, so it's the game not my hardware. If there were still this many issues with Twilight, it should never have been released to retail. But I guess profit trumps quality these days.
