Unaligned Bug?

I encountered a strange bug (?) last night playing DA.

I inadvertently researched Ethics w/o 10,000 BCs (had 9,712) and, to my surprise, found that Evil was the 10,000 BC choice. The Evil choices made during the smallish Colony Rush I managed at Suicidal apparently were more than offset by all the treaties I had managed after running the diplo tree.

To get out of the screen, I chose Neutral (the 0 BC choice), then quit, and re-loaded from a previous save just before.

I re-researched Ethics and it skipped the Choice screen! The building choices include none of the ones from any of the three choices, and the research trees include none of the extra techs! ALL of the AIs have a minus towards my empire due to mis-match of alignment.

Anyone ever see this before?
