Questions about starship dimensions

hello everyone

i wish to know how to modify the starship dimensions in the space battle screen and in the intelligence report too

i can't make it more than 1500 meters but i want to modify ships like the drakh hordes mothership (and other colossal ships) to see them in the proper scale

please help me

I have never done this myself, but I am assuming that it has to do with the size of the model itself. Either that or the hull type. Maybe hardcoded.

nuooooooooo don't say that word agaaaaaaaaaain

HARDCODED!!!!

nuoooooooooooooooo

please please please more helps

but thank you scoutdog

however it's not the hull (already tried)

from where can i change the size of the model?

3D modelling program could do it, but I don't think it would do you any good.  I think the only way to alter a ship's size is to just assign it a higher or lower hull class.  Tiny ships are rendered differently from Huge ones, I think.

Actually, I tested that for Zyxpsilon once: they are rendered the same, but the smaller hulls are actually physically smaller.

so what can i do to change the size... create a new hull dimension like... colossal hull o.o?

As I recall, ships are scaled based on the filename of the base hull. If the name can't be identified it's scaled as a cargo hull.

The size is entirely dependant on the scale of the X model. I once converted a 3ds model into X file and the result was so big it was in the size of a Tiny galaxy map. I then rescaled it and got the desired size I wanted. So Raruto, if you don't have a proper 3D modelling programme, you can't modify the current default ship scales.

so it's beyond my actual knowledge but it's definately possible... i can create a world sized ship and the intelligence will recognize the correct size

but i still don't understand how do i do it... i mean... some screen or suggestion?

Raruto, as I said you need to actually work with the model in a 3D Editing programme (Such as Blender or 3ds Max) and to resize it. Then you need to save it as .X File using the panda converter I think it is called. And after that save it in the game and open the GC2Types XML and put your new model there in one of the codes (or as replacement). There is no other way to increase the ship's size unless you do that.
