I recently purchased the Ultimate Edition of GalCiv II, and I'm currently playing through the campaign mode. I've reached mission 6 in the Dread Lords campaign (Apocalypse), and a couple of strange things have started happening.

First, during the course of the mission, the Dread Lords captured one of my planets. At this planet I was building a freighter, or I had a trade route established or something, but after the planet's capture, two of my freighters remained in orbit and provided their normal range of sight around the planet, but I couldn't launch them or do anything useful with them. I clicked the turn button and the turn button itself just disappeared. I could still perform actions within the turn, but I could not actually end the turn until I figured out that decommissioning my two freighters in orbit around the Dread Lords' world allowed the game to progress. Each turn these two freighters respawned in orbit around that planet, and each turn I had to decommission them before the game would allow me to end the turn, up until the point that I finally retook the planet.

Second, and more frustrating, on the same mission, same game, I finally defeated the Dread Lords. Thinking I had met the mission parameters ("Defeat the Dread Lords" and "Protect our outposts"), I waited for the victory screen to pop up. It did not. I decided I would destroy the Drengin Empire and the Yor Collective, with whom both my allies and I were at war. No victory screen. I thought perhaps I would have to destroy the neutral races, with whom I had even allied over the course of the mission. I destroyed the Korx and the Drath. Still no victory screen. I can't declare war on the four remaining races, because their status is "TEAM." I can't ask them to "ally" with me either since we're on a team. There's no one else to destroy, no more remaining planets or resources. I've scoured every parsec of the galaxy and there is nothing remaining that does not belong to me or one of the other four races on my team, and still I am not given the victory screen for which I slaved so long.

Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
