I have a fix ready for the long page loads, broken pages, etc. related to the new view edits functionality.  I also have a fix ready for the "can't see op's edits" bug.  However, I won't be pushing them until Monday morning.  For the time being, please ignore any bugs related to those 2 issues until Monday morning's update!  Thank you.

I think he meant that now that the public can see their edits, anything they post now will be seen, not just what they edit to....and thus people may think twice before posting a nasty reply.

Yes....that'll be the positive effect of having the edits publicly visible...

FYI the "view edits" does not work with firefox. Nor does the firefox spell checker for some reason.

View edits works perfectly fine with firefox. Where doesn't it for you?

     BTW, why do my smilies pop up at the front of my posts instead of at the end where my cursor is? I have to C/C/P them to the end!

Make sure you are looking at a post that has been edited.  And do a forced refresh [ctrl][F5].

Make sure you are looking at a post that has been edited. And do a forced refresh [ctrl][F5].

Thank you!  [ctrl][F5] fixed it right up. Forced refresh. I'll file that away in my tool box.

It's a regular zoo around here.We have s, s, s, s, s,   , s, s, s,and of course

There are also geese,giant spiders and a poo flinging monkeh that show up from time to time.

I wouldn't say "never".  It stopped working around one of the forum updates...too long ago to remember which one.  It was a pretty big forum change though...

I think it stems somewhat from the fact that the control is some form of WYSYWIG editor made possible by some sort of JavaScript stuff. It's not really a normal HTML text control, and the text displayed in it is dynamic via the JavaScript, and I don't think Firefox's spell checker is equipped to check text generated on the fly via JavaScript.

Essentially, if you want to keep the WYSIWYG aspect, you'd have to find a control that includes spell checking, or modify the control to add some sort of spell checking support. I think there are some publically available JavaScript spell checkers.
