You're Banned!: The Forum Game

Okay, here's what you do for this game: You have to "ban" the person who posted above you for an outrageous, silly, or funny reason. Got it?

It's a graphical loop in Nvidia Video cards. It is very annoying and difficult to fix, if I'm not mistaken.

Banned for not knowing what it is.

BSOD = Blue Screen Of Death.

It is when your computer crashes, (for many various reasons), and you have disabled automatic restart from windows settings, you see a blue screen, with some stuff you dont understand, and a message from windows that you do understand.

The stuff that you dont understand are the important ones. Like for example:

xxxx.dll has failed,

or the very common one:

IRQ NOT LESS OR EQUAL (which is usually a problem with your RAM memory.)

Hmm....how did you know its from Nvidia drivers? :(O Its not a hardware issue, but rather a driver problem that all Nvidia cards share.

But how did you know its a Nvidia issue? Oh, unless you read my post in the Chatroom |-)

In the blue screen, it tells me that this file has failed: nvcpl.dll

Which is the .dll for the Nvidia Control Panel. Since that fails, and is responsible for the BSOD, it is a driver issue.

I think its with all the 19x.xx Nvidia driver series. I dont know about the 25x.xx drivers though. I havent tried them yet.

I believe it is very difficult to fix yes, because if it was something easy, they'd have fixed it by now. This nvidia driver issue has existed for so long, you'd figure they really have trouble fixing it.

Anyway, I hadnt seen a BSOD for such a long time, that I thought my updating to the lastest Nvidia drivers fixed that issue.

Thats why I was surprised to see the BSOD again, after like....2 months or so.

That would be all.

Banned for I do know what a Blue Screen of Death is. I'm just not in on all the acronyms, so BSOD doesn't register to me. I've had it before, but not in years.

Banned for windows 98 and bill gate's failure

During a showing of a Windows 98 beta by Bill Gates at COMDEX on April 20, 1998, an incident occurred in which a BSoD displayed in front of the public. The demo computer crashed with a BSoD when his assistant (Chris Capossela, who is still working for Microsoft as Corporate VP in the Information Working business unit) connected a scanner to the PC, trying to demonstrate Windows 98's support for Plug and Play devices. This event brought applause from the crowd and Gates replied after a pause: "That must be why we're not shipping Windows 98 yet."[2]

He he, yeah I remember at first when Windows 98 was released, it had many problems as an OS.

It wasnt just the beta version of it, even the complete official version of Win98 had these kinds of problems, BSOD and stuff.

Banned because there is a reason why Windows 98 SE (Second Edition) was released ;)

p.s. Syneptus, if you could find and post a video of the Win98 incident, that would be great
