How do you cancel treaties?

Hi

I have a quick simple question. How do you cancel treaties such as economic or research one. In my game I have a economic treaty with the Korx and I want to declare war on them but when I do I get a message saying that I have broken treaties and my reputation has suffered. Looking in diplomacy screen after that I can see that all civ dont trust me anymore. So how do I cancel the treaty so that I can teach the merchant Korx a little lesson.

You either have to have that race declare war on you or you have to start a war with them. Its the only way.

Yes, you will take a diplomacy hit. Thats the way it is. If, however they declare war on you, you won't take the penalty. You have to decide how important having other races like you is.

Here's an easy way to get someone to Declare War on you so you don't take the Diplo hit (instead they get the penalty)

park some transports near their planets.  they won't like it.  do enough posturing and they'll declare war since they "know what you are doing".  voila, no hit to yer diplo and you already have ships in place to conquer their worlds. how deliciously evil.
