GCII - Ultimate Edition Scenario Problem

I just got my GCII Ultima Box copy shiped to me this week ^__^

I also own a Gold Edition of GII

The problem I have right now is the Ultimate Edition, I can't play any of the scenario I chose in the new custom game.

everytime when I finished sitting up my custom game, when I click next, next, next until I got to the loading screen everything freezes and crush or stop working....I have no trouble playing when I chose the normal scenario. I wonder if this is cause by the tech tree or something

I'm not sure if this only happen to the Ultimate edition of the GCII or Just TOA expansion

does anyone know how to switch chapter in the Ultimate edition?

if there is no way to switch chapter in the Ultimate edition I'm ok with it, since I also have a seperate copy of gold edition to play around with.

 

Almost forgot...I notice the GCII - Ultimate Edition seem to crush alot ingame and during the customizing custom game more often than the orginal and the DL

I'm having exactly the same problem.  Can't find anything anywhere beyond any number of people having the same problem.  I was thinking it could be a tech-tree issue, as the scenario editor only seems to have the one tree available to all races, whereas the game now has many, but I have no idea how to solve it.

I't just seems that the latest updates and such have corrupted all but the standard new game start.

OK, having spent some time messing about, I think I have come up with a solution to the problem (ish.) I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that the original assumption that the tech tree is the problem was correct, and the ToA just doesn't like the scenarios.  I have found that by running the DA exe in the galciv folders I can run the scenarios fine.  The problem, of course, is that you can't do that from the launcher anymore.  Bit of an arse, that could very much do with a fix from someone (hint hint) but there is a workaround for the problem (providing, of course, that you're not desperate to play the scenarios in the ToA setup.)

tl;dr Run the exe in ...Program Files\...\GalCiv2Ultimate\DarkAvatar (wherever it is on your machine) and you can play scenarios to your heart's content.

I thought about using the DA exe and the DL exe to run the game at first, but that cause the game to run in pervious expension (DA) and their is no orginal GC II exe in the Ultimate Edition. Both the TOA exe and the Ultimate Edition exe seem to have tech tree problem when paying a scenarios since they both use TOA's tech tree. I bought the Ultimate Edition thinking that they fixed it since it's the last thing the developer did for GC II and it look like they spent alot of time on it and proud of it. I felt very stupid now for buying the same game twice -_-

the only two way I could think of are to wait for the makers to make another patch, but I don't think it will be anytime soon since they have their hand full on Demi God right now. 

 I not sure if this will work... Since we got scenarios editor with TOA, is it possible to convert DA scenario formate to TOA? I haven't touch any of the editors since I have alot of work (primary ap class study). If anyone have time can you help me confirm if DA scenario able to be converted to TOA scenario? Thx

I noticed along with this whenever the dread lords arrive it crashes too I am finding the game has issues dealing with aything related to the old stuff it seems.
