Military?

No this is not a political conversation if thats what you think. Just a question on which service you think would probably be best like the benefits or problems; you know. Because I was thinking of marines as an officer but, hopeing to make it into Annapolis.

Having served in the Air Force, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Navy.

LOL

Having served as an officer in the Army (and currently still in the National Guard) I would recommend the Air Force!

They always seemed to have the nicest bases and housing.

I was in the Army (as a civilian employee) and liked it :D

Don't get me wrong.  I liked the Air Force.  Just not very much.  :P

Umm, if you're a civilian, you're not in the Army.

Go Air Force, kid.

never been in the military myself,

but my grandfather always told me growing up that if I was thinking about joining to go Navy.

Or even Coast Guard not really the "traditional" sence of military but still serving your country.

In some ways, perhaps.

As far as living conditions, no complaints.  Yes, we were somewhat spoiled in that area.

The schools in the Navy and Air Force carry almost the same weight when we hire in our shop.  All other things being equal, the Navy has a slight edge.  If it came down to two people competing for the same job, the one with Navy schools would take it by a slim margin.  That's my biggest driving force when I recommend the Navy.

Believe me, no one below a certain high rank is pampered in any branch of the military.

In the Air Force, you sleep in your own bunk, and eat hot food.

In the Navy, you share a bunk, unless you are an officer, and eat hot food.

In the Army or Marines, you'll often sleep in a mud (or dust) filled hole, and eat MRE's.

The Air Force and Navy have the best schools, the Marines and Army have the best stories.

Not many marines here eh?

But the Navy and Marines just place you in jobs. But Army and Air Force gives you a selection right and also the reason why I said marines is because aern't they the muscles of the military.

Hmm...I thought the Navy would allow you a choice of careers like the Air Force does.  If not, I'd have to go with the Air Force.  Well, I did way back when.  Having a choice of careers makes a huge difference when you get out.

If you want a chance at coed, go Navy.  Otherwise, go air force.

What's the Marines?

If I join the military, I'm going Navy. That's where the brains are, and you get great experiencr with high-tech equipment.

I have nothing but respect for the Army and Marines though. You can't win a war without boots (or tank treads) on the ground. (Salutes).

CIA, you'll be on continual oversea missions, use topnotch technology, fight the next cold war over Global warming Arctic resources (Methane Hydrates, that is), defeat Terrorism & eat your enemies food when caught. Escape is a must.

I made Lieutenant in the CAF, Esquimalt base aside... i could pick a few Espionage Satellites from two sides US/USSR and none could survive Y2K unless scanned by superlatively equipped Radars neither had knowledge of (Nato included). And, that's ONLY from the mid 70's.

1986/87 was even more tricky, binary wise.

No wonder we're in Afghanistan lately. In no need of a Year worth of vacations (btw, FOX).

Airforce would be kool, get to travelling through stargates and flying starships.

Marines would be my next pick, get see blood and alot of action like dropping in on bug planets, yelling out "Uuugraaa" then killing alot of bugs and taking out aliens before the eggs hatch.

Army would be not very fun, hiding UFOs in area 51, wear red shirts then getting killed, Oh! Wait a minute that is Star Trek or is it the same thing, green shirts ok.

Navy would be kidda of boring in living in sub for 9 months with the same men, no women.

Well, I would choose Air Force then again I am not you so choose wisely young one beause it is for life.:-"

Heres what I know so far and you can tell me if I'm wrong or something.

Marines: They may not give you the whole load of chioces like the Army and Air Force but, like the Navy they do have lists of jobs that are available and like they said the more of these jobs you take the more you can excel and get promoted. Also the marines are

The biggest group of badasses since the Roman leigionares.

and are the number 1 fighting force in the world when it comes to aggresiveness.

Army: Alot of job selections and never goes out but, they can be sometimes lazy and also act like a police force instead of a actual fighting machine that puts fear into peoples eyes.

Air Force: The brains and the only ones that have an extremely high percentage that go to college and become the big guys in the military or could be the coms or watching the people on ground, sea, and air to make things safe and work properly.

Navy: #1 fleet in the world. Great minds. And could survive without any of the other branches (Air Force and Army). The Marines are funded by the Navy and don't like to admit there part of the navy. They also have the #1 academies and colleges around. But also like the marines have a selection of jobs that can be taken up that may leave you to a grunt, or a desk job answering funs, and checking paperwork.

There is more but thats what I'll leave it at.

You don't know anything about the Army.

If you're serious, go talk to a recruiter rather than asking for BS opinions online.

I did and it was nothing different sry bro but, dude you shouldn't be mad about it but, you could explain how there wrong. Oh mysterious one who knows all.

So, this whole question was in fact a way for you to flatter the US military as being #1 in the World, right?

Yep, it wasn't about Politics or anything.

If you ever get out of boot camp of any three sectors of that Nuclear machine with enough ICBMs to blow up 50 Earths, 5 Russias, 10 Chinas, 40 Indias, 125 Pakistans, 200 UK+France and Canada along the ride of a true Armageddon,... just let us all know if a successful carreer is more about Life or Death of the many rather than being Patriotic or hypnotically enroled since childhood by schools & an agenda of protectionism.

You have a choice and that's the beauty of Freedom - in the meantime, consider this from someone who knows the extreme conditions of Officers Training; your personal values can't stand in the way of a clear order to legitimately defend what is worth protecting such as your family, friends and Society.

Flags, weapons & enemies included.

Nobody is best military wise on our planet, boy. As history has proven many times over.

Naw.  BS opinions from teh internets are what you should pay attention to.  Trust me.  Have I lied to you that you can prove yet?

True and to let everyone know. I come from a military background. My moms Navy same with my dad who served in the Iraqi War with the Marines as a com and my Uncle is in the Army as I think either a Colonel or the highest major you can get because he resently got promoted. The reason why I was thinking of marines is because there the ones that make you strong and are bonded as brothers, They give you the courage to do things you never thought you'd ever do like putting your body on a grenade to save the rest of your squad. I alawys in my dreams wanted to serve my country because my family so heartedly believes andso do I that joining the military is the best way tosave others and to protect themfrom future catastrophies. I'm not saying the stuff before to flatter but, as how they stand in society. I wanted to join boot camp this year but, I missed it due to quata as they put it since it was very late in the year. But I will join next no doubt about it but, its hard to choose what would be best.

The marine and army recruiter came tomy house to talk with me about the branch they represent. What I didn't like was that the army recruiter was puttin down the other branches alot. The marine only said one thing and the was about the army and recruiting convicts and heavy weights but, they probably have to go to a fat camp and my dad was agianst me going tothe marines before that and then after he actually was recommending it but, I still want to hearabout the other branches.
