Tech screen and planet screen at every game loading

The game shows the tech screen followed by the homeworld planet screen every time a new game or saved game is loaded.  I don't need to see them everytime a game is loaded and have to cancel them whenever loading a game.  Is there any way to set the game to just get right to the main game universe screen?

I don't think so.

Between us all having to click two obvious buttons to skip these and six hours of a dev coding time to provide new features to this game, which do you prefer?

I know it could take them just a few minutes to compile this simplistic change into the next update but i'd be the first to yell *Put it back* for good reasons;

- I must decide what to Research - or, confirm that specific tech decision made a few hours/days ago.

- I want to build a Market center or more PIs on the HW, asap - or, determine why there's still an empty tile on it.

- Then, i loop the Colony ship back onto it to replace 100 with 250 pop - or, ...

- Then, automate the Miner to the nearest asteroid - or, ...

- Then, send the Survey on a wild chase for Anomalies - or, ...

5/5 or 3/5... we do it once, only.

The same sequence of Research screen followed by HW screen shows up everytime you load the game, so it is not once only.  I don't need to be reminded of what I am researching or what I have in my HW EVERY single time.  Reducing the number of mouseclicks, especially unnecessary ones is a good programming practice.

We're talking about 2 clicks here.  I think the resetting influence at each game load is worse.

If you really want this changed add it to the "What do you want to see in GAL Civ 3" thread.

I beg to differ; when you START a new game - you must select a first tech to research (or change the default silly 'NewPropulsion Technics or not' for X in order to use tp as you wish) and if you have to select the HW from the main map and click again on the VIEW button to have a look at its surface to drop your first PIs - that's two clicks instead of none (or a single one to skip it all) at initialization of the UI.

He wasn't talking about upon starting a new game - he was talking about loading a game.

ie You quit GalCiv2 to check your email and grab a sandwich, come back in, and now you have your HW screen up, and your tech screen up, and every ship on auto-anything reports in...

It isn't worth the effort to 'fix' this issue, and I do occasionally catch a lazy planet or ship so that's handy I suppose. But I do understand the OP's point - why does this happen, anyway? Somebody did have to choose to implement that behavior, and it does strike me as odd.

But I don't care that much. Meh.

Yes, I am more concerned with the loading of a saved game.  Unless I stopped playing a saved game for a month, I don't need constant reminding.

I don't know of any other game that keeps doing this on every loading.  It feels more like a bug than a feature, as if the software cannot differentiate between a new game and a saved game.
