Please forgive me I stuck this in the wrong category and this is the only way I know to get it in the right one.

This is going to be my latest after action report. When I am going to try and get it published. So enjoy at let me know what you think.

 

I have not started a game to go with this yet. I am just writing the background. When I start a game I will give you the stats.

Prelude:

 

In the year 2050, The common man finally understood that global warming was just the natural process of the Earth as it shifted orbits for one that was slightly more circular and closer to the sun. As it had done uncountless times over the last 4.5 billion years since it's creation.

In the year 2060, World War 3 started as the Russians sent a Bear bomber to harass the Canadians again. It wasn't supposed to cross over in Canadian air but it did. The Canadians had sent up two f-22s to intercept it and escort it out of the area. When one of it's fighters had a malfunction that ended up with a sidewinder being fired and the bear being shot down. Or, that is what the Canadians claimed.

 

The UN stepped tried to stop the war before it began. They demanded that the pilot be prosecuted for the shooting down of the bear. The Russians demanded his execution be done in Moscow.

 

The Canadians asked the US to help investigate the accident. The result was that the Canadians refused to prosecute the pilot for an accident. The Americans backed the Canadians on this matter. Vetoing the UN resolution calling for the prosecution of the pilot.

 

 

Angered by this the Russians declared war on Canada. They caught the Americans and Canadians off Guard, by landing troops in the middle of winter in the Yukon by submarine. The first wave totaled 100,000.


It only took the Russians a week to take the Yukon province along with the towns of Invik and Deline in the Northwest province. They also took the towns of Fort Nelson, Prince George, and Prince Rupert.


At the demands of the USA, They stopped their advance but refused to remove their troops. They returned to the UN to to negotiate a peaceful outcome. During the week that they were negotiating they reinforced their troops and secured the holdings they had.


At the end of that week the UN and the Russians once again demanded the prosecution and execution of the pilot which the Canadians refused to do.


The Russians again started to push further into Canadian territory. However one of their tank columns made a slight navigation mistake and ended up in Alaska. It must be noted that they did not fire any weapons while in Canada. But it was enough to bring the USA, England and Mexico into the war on the side of Canada.


With in a month the Allies were able to bring the Russian attack to a halt. The rest of Europe stayed out of the war.


The UN found itself as weak as it's predecessor the League of Nations in stopping this war.


By the time the Russian push was stopped they had taken all of British Columbia, The Northwest Territories, and Nunavut in Canada. In the United States they had also taken the state of Washington, and parts of Oregon, Idaho and Montana.

This is when the United States releashed it's newest secret fighter. This fighter was so advanced that Ground troops were only needed to go in and mop up. In fact this fighter was really a space fighter and not an air fighter. It seems that the semi-government program SETI had actually worked and The US government had been talking to a race from across space claiming to be our long lost cousins the Alterians.


Not knowing if these Alterians were truly friendly or even cousins of ours. The USA had started to design and build some true space fighters. They had claimed them to be the next generation space shuttles.

It took almost a year to get the Russians out of Canada.


The Chinese saw that the United States had it's hands full with the Russians invaded and retook Taiwan. All the Americans could do at the time was protest.

plitical intrigue is always good and backstabbing is always fun.

On a sidenote the "Northwest province" does not exist, its a territory, but i saw that you corrected that in a later paragraph.

Prelude 2:

 

In the year 2165, All nations were now part of the Earth Alliance. Under this Alliance things such as world hunger and diseases were no more. Everyone was allowed to practice what ever religion they wanted to. The Arabs and the Jews were forced to get along. Although you would never find them on the same sport teams.

 

In 2166 Humans finally set foot on Mars. The landing site chosen was The Face of Mars to prove that it was indeed a trick of light and shadow. But it turned out to be something that no one even suspected. For it was indeed a trick of light and shadow. But buried under all that sand the astronauts found an ancient space ship. Inside the found that the computer system all tho dead still held information on something called a hyper gate.

 

After studying the info. on the hyper gate. It was decided that it could be used in the solar system but it would take to long to place one at the nearest star. A team of scientists were assigned to come up with new technology that would make it more useful.

The Hyper drive engine had passed all tests.  So it was commissioned to be used on the Brontosaurus. 

 The Brontosaurus was such a huge ship that they used two engines on it.  Two engines had never been used on a single ship before.  But with it passing all its test no one foresaw a problem with using two engines. 


 With a huge send off the Brontosaurus jumped into hyper space.  The jump was spectacular.  The energy readings had gone off the scales.  It was feared that the ship might have exploded but there was no debrie field.  We would not know for 5 years if the Brontosaurus made it.  No other ships could be sent.  With current technology the was only enough fuel for a one way trip.


 Five years later the Brontosaurus was written off with all hands lost.

Make the whole thing up. Let your imagination create the story, not the game. Thats what I did with my stories (though they do generally follow the Galciv storyline).

chapter 1

The Hive

It has been 100 years since we landed on our new home world, Julie.  Julie was named after the captain's wife who died during the failed jump that landed us here.

It was decided to break the ships passengers and crew up into 5 clans.  Not all members of a clan were of the same family.  The brontosaurus had effectively six decks.  was a good half mile in circumference.  Each clan was assigned to a deck with the bottom deck being held in reserve for parks and industries. 


We have not built outward as humans in the past have but upward.  The rule is once a clan has to many people for it's floor it pays to have a new floor built and is then divided in half and a new clan is born.

Every tenth floor is reserved for parks and industries every twentieth floor is reserved for a hospital.  Each clan policies it's floor and fights small fires.  Each city builds upward until it reaches Geo orbit.  Geo orbit is where a satellite would remain above the same spot on the ground.  As the city adds a floor, the floor gets smaller until reaching the half way point then it starts to get larger again to use the rotation of the planet to up hold the city up.  When the city reaches max height a space dock is built to allow space ships to dock with the city.


Julie is big enough to hold 15 cities this way.

The government and society


The government and society are the same.  Each clan has a clan leader usually voted in to office.   Each clan leader meets with the other clan leader of the super clan.  A super clan is made up of the ten floors.  Each super clan sends a representative to the city government.  Each city sends a representative to the planetary government.

Remember that not all of the cities will have the same number of clans.  since some cities will be started at sea level and others will be in the high mountains or possible in the sea itself.


Each leader is known as the captain in honor of captain frank who was able to get the battered brontosaurus to this system and land safely without any further deaths.


So to help with this and maybe confuse an enemy.  Ship captains are called president.
