Request for a Irish themed skin

..any takers?

I love holiday skins, but they seem to be in short supply! Would anyone want to design a Irish theme for St Patrick's Day for my XP?  There is nothing even close that I have found! Was happy to find one for Mardi Gras finally!

Not hardly enough time to get one done before the 17th.  You could find a green based WB and look for Shamrocks, St. Patrick, or Leprechaun items in the Libraries and just build a desktop. :sun:

In all fairness, the links lead only to icons and screenshots of other's desktops.  There isn't enough time to create a Windowblind in time for St. Patrick's day right now, but if you give me your e-mail addy in a PM, I might be able to doctor something up for you.

I second the request for an Irish-themed WB Skin.
I on the other hand don't mind if it's not done by the 17th,
but would ask not to fill it with too many clichés.
Also appreciated would be XP AND Vista versions, as I run both.

It would probably go well with this dream:

You can do a simple one yourself just by using custom colouring:-

That's cute 'n' all, but simply changing colors is not the same as a real skinned theme.

If I could do anything remotely good with graphics, I'd try it myself
but I can't, so I'm requesting one/seconding a request for one.

End of M-203's quote

Oh, so not full of red-headed leprechaun's, sitting in shamrock patches, shillelagh in one hand, and a big old pint of Guiness in the other, hah?  To be honest, I'm not really in this one for the long haul.  I was going to just basically do what Fuzzy suggested by recoloring a skin, then adding a few elements of my own -- start button, a little something on the top of the start menu, maybe something with the scrollbar drag bar and progress bar and sending the adulterated skin personally to sueech if I had an e-mail addy for him/her.

The uninitiated don't understand all that goes into creating a skin.  It's not just the big things that jump out at a person that go into it -- there's all the little stuff, toolbar icons, adjusting fonts and their colors, and the system colors -- the system colors and the font colors have to coordinate well or the skin is totally useless - you can't read anything in the menus!  It's aggravating figuring out how to make these elements play well with each other, figuring out what each one does and how it affects the others.

If there is no passion for the finished outcome, the skin isn't going to see completion.  A skinner has to be committed to the subject of the skin, otherwise it's like babysitting somebody else's kid all the way through the teen years....if there is no love, somebody is going to get hurt.  ;P

This is just something I whipped up for St. Patrick's day - its an adulterated Windowblind (Stardock Classic), dyed Kelly green, with a new start button and a little emblishment on the start menu -- if this were an article of clothing, it would be considered "poor girl's prom dress" (something old, dyed a new color, and accessorized so as to barely be recognized by the untrained eye as last year's dress).

If you're interested, there is link below for download.  Included in the zip file are a couple of St. Patrick's Day LogonXP skins I created and Bootskin for XP.  Other parts on the screen shot are available in the DesktopX widget gallery (Chrome Dome calendar, weather and clock widgets).

X|   I was unaware someone had already skinned St. Patrick's day (obviously).  I tried doing a search using words that had to do with St. Patrick's Day to find out if somebody had already done it....never thought to use the term "Jade."  Oh well, it never hurts to play around in SKS6 and photoshop; helps develop my skills.

Thanks, MouseGoddess, for the compliment on my recycle job. :)
