I did this on a whim, but I've had a lot of fun with it, so I thought I'd share. I just can't get enough of Darth Vader saying "I'm altering the deal. Pray I don't alter it further" on the negotiation screen. This mod replaces all the alien pictures, movies and music. btw, most of the races have different movies, and, in some cases, different sounds depending on your relations with them.

Star Wars Mod Extra Music (32 megs) - http://galciv.bsd.st/madmaz/StarWars_Galciv_Music.zip Replaces the six main songs and the intro theme with various songs from the 5 movies. This is not really necessary. If you have the soundtracks, setting up a playlist will give you a lot more variety.

This is a great MOD, kind'a gives a new feel to Galciv. Love it when you talk to Vader and he says "Hi. Glad to see you. Heres a big virtual hug!" and at the start when chosing the other civilizations, put the smugglers to 'fool' and it says '...are a simple, machine based life form'....the huts? simple, machine based? LOL LOL LOL LOL SOOOOOO FUNNY

Just an FYI for you all: there's been over 110 gigabyte of Star Wars fun served up by this mod! (probably significantly more than that, since I didn't have a download counter in the beginning.) Thanks for all the support.

p.s. You'd think they would have upgraded me from a lowly citizen by now. (:(

110 gigabytes??? I'm sure I didn't download that much. My computer can only hold 44 gigabytes so it can't have been.

In other forums in the past I have been very active, so I reply to messages very quickly, so I wont miss a thing!

If you plan on updating this MOD (adding things, altering things) then what are they? Still thing the dancer dude is kinda cool :HOT: but, even the HUTT's wouldn't hire him! LOL

Yup, I'm sure it's just another kid who tries the first link in the post and doesn't bother to read further.

btw, after finishing my current obsession FarCry, I think I'm going to have another go at Gciv. Can I download the full standalone expansion pack with my drengin account, or is that just for the beta?

The latest link provided will allow me to download the music pack but not the Mod file. It takes me to a sign-up page for Pro-hosting.

Is this still available anywhere?

The service I was using to count the number of downloads apparently doesn't exist any more. I removed that part of the URL, so both the link and the mirror site should work fine now: http://www.cdgroup.org/forums/tbs/gc/viewforum.php?f=90

Hey MadMaz, your Mod is not in trouble. CDG is going to be changing software loosing all data. The files and other things for forums like Galciv will be lost.

You may want another place to mirror your wonderful Mod. :D

Yeah thats because CDG has removed the Galciv forums entirely like I warned him about.

I will make his Mod available on NeoTech.. http://www.neotechgaming.com I should have it online by tomorrow if nothing comes up.

I wanted him to move his Mod to NeoTech when I left CDG behind me for good. He did not move it.. Sorry this happened. NeoTech is a site where you can find all Mods for Galciv. We try to support the game and other games the best we can for the community. ;)
