cannot use impulse to update galciv2

Here is my situation.

I can load up impulse w/out problem.

at the lower left-hand corner of the screen is a tab that says something to the effect of: downloading impulse update - paused

at the top right there are these symbols: key, 2 computers, question mark. The 2 computers states that I am logged in as the proper account

When clicking on the games icon, it shows every registered game I should have.

When I attempt to download the update to galciv2(ToA) i get this message: Please wait until impulse finishes connecting to install an application.

please help me rectify this.

If impulse is having trouble updating (you can't do any installs or updates while it is updating itself), try just grabbing a fresh copy of the installer from impulsedriven.com and reinstalling it. The installer on the site is always the latest version.
