There's rumors they are also coming out with another version called "Galactic Civilization II: Dread Lords - Earth Galactic Plane Eclipse Catastrophe" in 2012.. so keep your eyes open for it.

It should. If you're getting a BSOD that would tend to indicate a hardware or driver issue with your system itself. Otherwise, if you're having issues please start a new thread and post your debug.err file, or contact support@stardock.com.

I TRYED THE DREAD LORDS VERSION FOR X TURNS TILL I WAS STOPPED ALOGTHR.  MICROSOFT DEMO GAMES ALLOW TO REACH AN END.  THS DEMO LEFT A BITTER TASTE IN MY MOUTH.  IT'S A PRODUCTTO BE SOLD BUT OME ON LET COMPLITION END THE DEMO NOT X TURNS.

Been I off the grid for awhile. I have a new laptop again operating on W8.1 is GalCiv II compatible with it?

GalCiv 2 has been reported several times as running on Windows 8.1.  You should have no problems.
