BORDER QUESTION

Me again  - my 3rd question in a week!

TA 2.0  Immense map

I've been playing for a while now & just nearing the end of the colonization phase when on completion of the galactic restaurant thing started getting weird.

Straight away my borders expanded - as expected - then did some trading & it didnt work? (not related as I get this often)

This happens sometimes - the trading is all completed & balanced press 'send' & all seems to go through ok - however I cant trade with that person again for a while as if the trade went through but I dont get any of the gold,tech etc that I received - Dont know if AI oppo did?

Is this a bug?

However (I got sidetracked) when I reloaded to redo trade {does not accept trade from last time - just repeats above until new deal is made with that oppo} I noticed that all borders - mine & oppos have shrunk dramatically by about 4/5 spaces around each colony - asteroids etc seem to be outside sphere of influence instead of inside as before etc?

I have had the restaurant before & this hasnt happened - any ideas to a) my intermittant trade problem b) the loss of borders?

Trade problem I have no idea, but the borders issue is pretty common. The game doesn't save bonus information regarding influence, so when you first load a game in progress you see the borders as they would be if you had 0% influence bonus (no RoE, no tech bonuses, no mined resources, etc). It will recover the first time you hit turn after loading.

Also be advised that loading a save will interrupt planet flipping. When you load, no planets have the skull icon, regardless of influence. The first time you hit turn, the skull will appear on the appropriate planets; the second time you hit turn those planets have a chance to flip. Asteroid mines can flip the first turn after a load.

however I did try to hit turn but nothing much seem to happen - do they restore slowly - ie more influential planets exerting influence gradually but quicker than smaller ones over several turns? - how long before its in the pre load position?

What is Rof E? rate of ?

Restaurant of Eternity, the 20% influence bonus building you mentioned having.

As far as load recovery, it shouldn't take more than one turn to return to the usual levels. If yours isn't, you may have a separate issue.
