Editing Senario Question

What I want to do is use the normal, Senario, and just change the velocity setting so the ships move slower.

I also want to change the speed influnce starts at, pretty much I want every thing to move at a slow pass for a longer game.

problem is when I creat a custom Senario, I do not get the options in game to pick a race or to pick who I play aginst ?

it seems if you creat a custom and remove playrace it defaults to the humans. ?

if I could figure out where the defualt normal senario is kept then I could just edit the values in there, but its not seemed to be kept any where I can find it ? example its not in the senario folder under data english.

This is (normally) a Race related capacity... meaning that any abilities (in that case, speed & indirectly, range) could only be altered through rewriting the necessary tag values found in a modded RaceConfig.xml file (for all races, btw) and using the new default settings via a mod folder.

There would also be a way to provide such changes by setting up datasets straight into a modded tech-tree for DA and/or the TA multiples.

Okay, Scenarios are stand alone files which are (or were by SD) created by the provided TA Editor... this "normal" context must be entirely defined within that process. It can even be tied with a modded environment such as what i suggested in the earlier post.

Strictly speaking, the stock default scenario files (as unpacked when you install the game versions) are more of a demo type or simulation of options to introduce players to the gameplay features.

Although, nothing stops anyone from creating their own with the multiple Editor programs, also.

problem though is when you use them the editor, it takes out the abilty for the player to chose there own, race to play as, and it also takes out the abilty for the player to chose who they want to play aginst.

there must be way around that issue. ?

I was thinking senes the normal senario when starting new game, allows the player to chose any race, and senes these files can be open and edited using adobe dream weaver, I figured it just be matter of finding the normal defualt, senario file, which is not in the senario folder, and editing the things I want to edit in it and resave it, an rename the file.

what I was wondering is if any one knows where this senario file is and or what you would put in to a senario file to allow player to be able to pick any race to play and any one to play aginst.

senes like i said editor locks these features out for the player.

End of quote

That's the easy part;

-- C:\Galciv (your installation folder default path, and_or change accordingly for DA & TA resources) \Data\English\Scenarios\*HERE*

Some of these files mostly loadup a Custom map along with their datasets and a few even require some other specific files (possibly in a mod folder). Afterwards, it is only a matter of either editing those or create  new ones with your own particular values.
