Hard time designing ships

When I am trying to design ships I run into a very annoying problem.  The "attach points" on the jewelry are ludicrous!!  I try and try to see if the jewelty will attach at other points, but it wont, and it makes it useless.  Another thing is that a lot of the time not only does the jewelry choose weird and useless attach points, but it also doesn't allow OTHER jewelry to attach at logical places.  What am I missing???

did you try to move your camera ? zoom in, zoom out, pan & rotate ?

yes ? then you can try maximizing the size of the jewelry maybe ?

Yes I did all that.  I have a question though.  Do new pieces anly have ONE attachment point to thejewelry already in place??

I'm not sure what you meant but each piece of jewelry has one and one only "attach point" which is the point with which you will attach it to your current ship.

However, once attached to the ship they all offer several additional attachment points that you can attach other pieces of jewelry to (or functional components for that matter)

Yes it does. And I am saddened by it because the attach points of some of the jewelry make teh pieces quite useless.  Too bad.  Thanks anyway.

Edit:  Do you know any mods that will allow me to use other race's hulls as jewelry?  I tried Kryo's and it didn´t work.

yes I know some are quite "strange" but in fact sometimes you can "cheat" by putting other pieces of jewelry to deport the one you want then with rotation you can sometimes achieve a look close to what you wanted ...

and there's kryo's hull system or kryo's hull system or eventually ... kryo's hull system :S

To my knowledge it should work though...
