Bought Ulitmate... What to do first?

So I bought GCII Ultimate which contains 3 games.  But I'm pretty sure they are just 3 standalone games, albeit expansions.  If I want to play some kind of campaign, I imagine there is some kind of order I should play them in?

Or do I just play the latest version which is the most 'up to date'?  I'm not very familiar with the series...

Thanks,

Javaslinger

I'm in the same boat.  From what I understand, if you want to follow the story-drive campaign, start with Dreadlords and work your way forward with Da and then TA.  However, if you don't care about the story-driven campaign (i.e., you just want to play a sandbox game), then I would recommend just playing TA as that has all the chrome in one package.

I think this is how it works.

I've been playing the GAlCiv series for years but have never played through a campaign.  The story never mattered that much to me.  I made my own as I played in the sandbox.  I'd do TA in the sandbox and dabble in the story later.

Same here.  I never got the point of story-driven games.  The fun of playing a game is making your own story!  :cylon:

well I for one enjoy good story driven games like for example "Farenheit : The Indigo Prophecy" or "Hitman : Blood Money" or "Bioshock"

but galciv2 while being OK at it, does not stand out for its story ... (in my humble opinion)

probably because it lacks better videos and voice acting to really put the player IN the game story
