changing "flavor text"

Hello,

I was just wondering, how do I change a custom race's "flavor text" i.e., the text you get when the game starts, when you colonize your first planet, ect.?

Any help is appreciated.

You said it yourself, inside the FlavorText.xml are all the things that the various races say. The first colonisation, invading a planet, etc.

It is located in these places for the various games:


-GalCiv2: Dread Lords = Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Data\English

-GalCiv2: Dark Avatar = Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\Data\English

-GalCiv2: Twilight of the Arnor = Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Twilight\Data\English


Inside the English folder you'll find many XMLs, and the FlavorText.xml is one of them. Hope I was able to help. Now modding the XML FlavorText is a whole different story

Yes, it is an absurdly huge file. Fortunately, if you use the "find" feature on notepad, and put in a general keyword such as "first colony" for the first colony paragraphs, you should land on or near the section you want.
