Should I play all campaigns in Twilight of the Arnor?

I just bought GalCiv II complete, and since I´m a noob, I don´t yet understand the way in which the addons integrate into the game. After installing everything (including the newest update, 2.0), there are Dread Lords, Dark Avatar und Twilight of the Arnor each available as "seperate" games to run, but if I run Twilight, I can choose to play the campaigns from Dread Lords and Dark Avatar.

Is there a difference between playing the campaigns in their native games and playing them all in Twilight? Which do you recommend?

If I already have Twilight, what advantages are there when playing Dread Lords or Dark Avatar? Or is it best to just run Twilight only, to always get the best plaing experience with all stuff from the addons?

If you play the campaigns through subsequent versions, you'll have a few of the new features of that version available, as well as any balance changes that were made in the intervening time. But otherwise, it doesn't so much matter.

Most people would advise sticking to TA, since it builds on DA, which builds on DL, in both features and balance.

As Kryo indicated, you may find the most enjoyment from starting out merely with TA.  Least wise, you don't miss much if you do that.

Also keep in mind that a lot of people (like me) mostly just play the sand box mode.  I personally consider this a perfectly valid way of enjoying the game and has provided me hours and hours of enjoyment.  This certainly doesn't detract from the really good campaign stuff that the good folks at Stardock put together, so if you wish to play them as well, by all means.  But sand box mode allowes you to jump in with any race (even custom ones) and any size galaxy and just start dominating the universe.
