Enemy Ships being aided by my own starbases !

I'm playing as Koranth, and I've got Torian fighters attacking me. When I click on their fleets, the attack and defense values indicate that they are being supported by *my* starbases.

The combat results also indicate that this is happening, as they are defeating my fleets that are in support of the starbases, and there is no way that should happen as my starbases have alot of modules.

I have a save game showing that this is happening. Can I email it to someone at tech support?

This is a serious bug as it kills the game. There is no point building starbases if they aid the enemy as well as your own ships.

is this with 2.0 ?

You are talking about military star bases right?  Is it possible that they have a military resource star base somewhere?  How can you tell that their ships are getting bonuses from you?

End of CaptainYar's quote

It is with 2.0.

The window shows the stats for the Torian fleet and lists the ID of the starbase that is supporting it. The starbase is mine. This has happened multiple times this game. The first time, I went out and searched in the surrouding area thinking that the Torians had a starbase. They don't.

There is no point in playing my current game and I'm hesitant to start another since this bug will likely come up again.

Anyone from StarDock? If so, I have a save game with the Tor fleet in question (actually two of them) in view. Hopefully, that would be sufficient to track this bug and fix it.

Were the Torians previously allied with you?  I'm just wondering because I know that there is a UP agreement that sometimes comes up that says that allies can benefit from your starbases and vice-versa.

Maybe if they are former allies, they picked up this bonus and GC2 forgot to switch it off when war broke out.

Thanks for the heads up.   I was going to try a miltary SB strategy as the Korx for my first game on 2.0.  Ouch, this bug is painful.

well I would say at least one other person should confirm this before considering it as an actual bug... you never know if one might not have a corrupt install or anything else somehow ...

I don't have 2.0 yet otherwise I would cheat a tech tree, rush build a support starbase by duplicating constructors, and then creating a ship, duplicating it, putting it into starbase range and giving it to an AI, then waiting a turn and check it out.

I just used a military starbase to extend my range and support my conquest of the Torian homeworld and didn't have any issues.  My ships rocked, theirs sucked.

Ok - I'm going to plead stupidity. After looking a bit more carefully, it appears that everything is OK. Everyone rest easy. -)
