computer does not recognize game disc

I recently bought GC2 : Dread Lords at a local store. I came home, put it in the computer, and...nothing happened. I went to My Computer and tried to start the disc in drive D manually, and it said "Please insert a disc". I have registered the game here on the website, and it still will not work. Am I missing something? Is there something else that needs to be done for it to load?

You may simply have a bad disc.

The easiest thing to do is download/install the game through Stardock Central or Impulse.

I'll add that there is absolutely no cd-check on galciv2 so if you have a problem with the disc it ain't because of registering or anything like that ...

You did not blow any money (except for gas, which pays for itself if you got a better deal than online). You would have had to buy it from somewhere anyway, whether it was from a store or online.

You also would have needed to download the updates, which basically replaces the CD installed version. So really, all you did was to save yourself the time of installing it from CD.
