Cant Win this game it seems

Cant stop acsention count down

I started a war with the Torians since thier ascension count down was under 75 turns i blew up the one ascension base they had the timer still counts downi have taken about 1/2 thier planets as well now.

I have a large tech lead other than weapons and i have finished many of the tech branches already and dont think they are that far into the tech win tree.

I have looked at the map zoomed out at ever possible setting and looked over the map several times. I am unable to find a ascension resource they own or have owned for many turns.Being a Medium map there are only a couple ascension resources to start with and they are all mine or unowned.

 

Any ideas?

Their ascension clock is only going to count down if they have at least one ascension crystal with a starbase on it.  Otherwise, the countdown does not progress. So there has to be one that you've missed.

Find that starbase(s) and destroy them.  It's been done to ME by the AI, when an ascension victory was put on hold because my last ascension SB was destroyed.

There are 5 ascension crystals on every map.  The fact that it is a medium map has nothing at all to do with that.

If their ascension count was under 75 turns I have to wonder what yours was at, since you say all crystals all yours or unowned at this point.

Try checking their starbases, via the ship list.

It might be in a place you think you've explored; I seem to remember that ascension starbases don't show up through the fog the way resource starbases do, even though the unclaimed crystals are visible through the fog of war.  Fair warning, I'm a little fuzzy on that since I turned ascension off after one game.

First real game with the ascension resource. Thanks for pointing out there are always 5

You guys where right i had sent my scouts out and they had finished thier duties but had missed the last ascension resource in a corner.
