Old Ships

from GalCiv2 Forums

Hi everyone,

I wish to buy Endless univers but what's about my old ships. I've made many specification (design) in twilight of arnor, It took me a lot of my time, so I don't need to rebuild them at all  :') .

 

Well, I'll take all my T Arnor ships and will place them in TA endless univers Folder. May I do it ? :grin:

:omg: one word : DON'T buy Endless Universe (unless you know that you're getting a second copy of exactly the same thing )

EU is just DA and TA.....

The only reason you would buy EU is if you wanted another 2nd set of characters for MV play, in that case then any ships made under TA should work fine when placed in the correct folder. Provided the folders are the same.

EU is not a Stardock release so the game paths could have been changed, but i doubt it.

Well it's exactly the same version, isn'it ?? So why do "they" make 2 versions of one game ?

Endless Universe was made for localization purposes and because DA/TA were never on the shelves in europe.

Since another company owned the rights for DL distribution in europe, a specific version with only DA & TA was made. (but the DL campaign is included nonetheless, just the DL engine is missing)

since then it seems the company distributing Endless Universe got the rights for DL too ...

Then,

 

1-I've designed a personal ship when I used torian style but if I change a ship's style, the designed ship is off :( how to transfer designed ship's torian to drengin ???

2-How to transfer Dark avatar ships to twilight of Arnor ?

1- impossible unless you use torian ship style  with any race setup OR you redo your designs with the KHSM mod which makes all races styles available to all races

OK !

 

although,

 

I've done many tests and now I know how to transfer dark avatar ships to twilight of arnor :

- go to your dark avatar folder, you'll see many folders especially 'ships' and 'shipstemplates'

- take all files inside

      Document XML
      Fichier SHIPCFG

-Just place them into tiwilight save folder ships to ships and 'shipstemplates' to 'shipstemplates'

When you play, remember the race style, so if it's drengin style in dark avatar  (appearance), select drengin in twilight too. I'm sure may be there's no bug (not tested yet) because TA is the last version
