HELP - I'm getting raped by pirats and peacekeepers !

Guys, i've spent alot of time in getting far in the GC II Endless Universe but all of a sudden peacekeepers popup with ships on steroids destroying many of my ships and structures ! Now the pirates popped up with huge fleets and overpowered stats  basically WIPING OUT most of my army which consisted mostly out of DREADNAUGHTS equiped with the heaviest weapons ! They took out  also starbases which basically are fully weaponized with all the latest tech too !

What kind of shit is this ?
I've lost influence regions, now i'm losing mines and income.

Whole game is ruined with this shit !
Days and days of work and building gone in a few turns.

Youch!  Those 2 things are mega events, which are somewhat random to go off.  There is the option to turn them off when starting a new game, but for your game that's in play already...you will have to tough them out.

Mega Events were made to shake up te game drastically...as you see.

Take some time from attempting to fight them and research bigger hulls, better weapons and better defenses.  Make sure your weapons/defenses compliment their weapons/defenses.  If they got missiles and point defense, go at them with something other than missiles and get yourself some point defense.

Don't attempt to get starbases bakc up and running again until the near-by area is clear.  Probably 2 sectors from the nearest pirate/peacekeeper may be enough to keep them from wandering over and pounding it.

BTW starbase weapons and defenses aren't a challenge to these ships nor mid-end game ships that you can make.  It's just something that doesn't scale that well.

One way to take advantage of these two events is to build super-fast transports that can speed in and in one turn take AI planets left undefended because of the Peacekeepers and Pirates.

We got to work on your agression issues KP....perhaps have you neutered.  That will also help with the spraying you do...

What's wrong with marking your territory? :-"

If wolves didnt work in packs, you'd understand the feline mentality of "everything belongs to me!"  Ever see the British sci-fi comedy Red Dwarf?  The Cat character is hilarious.XD

Yeah yeah...and if we didn't work in packs, the Terrans would have never evolved into family organizations and learned to hunt and then eventually build the hyperdrive that helped all races explode into galactic combat.

See, we really created the hyperdrive, we just lacked the opposable thumbs to assemble/fabricate it.

Back on topic...when mega events happen, roll with the punch and try to turn it into your favor.

I just had the same thing, only (fortunatley) it was mid game.  Personnally 2 of my favorite events, because they can prove to be huge advantage if properly exploited.

-That is one way that works very well.

-Another is that you need to switch weapon systems (and defenses) to something that the pirates and pks are not defended against.  Stop all ship production (unless building transports) and crank research to 100%, and research weapons and defenses specific to the pirates and pks weaknesses.

-Unless it is to your advantage, never kill pirates and PKs in another races area of influnce, let them work it out!

Oh yeah...johnlucky, is there an autosave from prior to this happening?  Mega Events are not predestined.  If you could reload to a save game prior to the mega event, you can pick up from there and most likely not be bothered with the pk's nor the mega pirates.

Damn toonces up there got me off track.

Question:

When these events happen do all the ships appear on the same turn? Will more appear on the next turn or the turn after that WITHOUT it being a seperate event.

They should all appear at once for 1 mega event.
