Victory Conditions

I am playing a game where I have turned off ALL victory conditions, Influence, Ascension, Technologocal....etc. I want a total conquest victory

1) I have allied with one race to help me in this (Korx). My question is after I kill all the other races and it is just me and the Korx, will I acheive a Diplomacy victory? Will I have to break my alliance before conquering the last planet that does not belong to either of us or will the computer know I turned off all victory conditions and un-ally us. There is a chance I might ally with another player (hard game). I don't want to accidently get a diplo victory.

2) same goes for Influence victory.......should I avoid Influence starbases as to not accidently flip stuff

1. You wont be in danger of achieving any victory other than conquest if you turned all the others off.  Your alliance will not automatically be broken when it's just you and your ally left.

2. Nope.  If you flip their last planet, you'll get a conquest vctory.    Flipping planets will make it happen sooner.

Cool. The last game I played I wanted to take everylast single planet by force. I was allied with another race that controlled 1/4 of the galaxy. Next thing I know....diplo victory. I felt cheated....those planets were MINE!!!!

I could have gone back to the last autosave but I wanted to move on. Playing this game with the Yor for the first time. They dont get much tech in economics, do they?

LedZerggelin, If you get to that point in the game, you should have the resources to just flip the planets on the Korx!

The victory conditions are there if you want them.  I leave them turned on personally.  You never know how this game will turn out, but usually by the time you have air supremacy, it is over.  I was playing an immense galaxy with 9 opponents last week (Crippling level).  The Jayded Knife (forget the spelling sorry) showed up and took the 72 best planets and all the techs.  (One of the more annoying events)  They are not aggressive, but their planets full of soldiers with the best techs are beyond annoying.  At this point of the game, all of my opponents were immobilized, but the planets were scattered everywhere  (100s of my ships going everywhere really slows the game down).  Influence victory would not work (because of the Minor Race), so I simply did the tech victory.

If you want a conquest victory, go to war with someone.  Influence victory takes 10 turns and will be canceled if war is declared.  Alliance victory is easily avoided if you don't want it.

To me, the fun of this game is a close match between you and the AI.  When the outcome is obvious, I am ready to move on.
