Endless Universe Registration

Missing Details

Hi

My apologies if this has already been addressed but for the life of me I can't find any details about it.

I've recently bought the UK Endless Universe which includes the two expansion packs but it won't register with the Stardock Impulse application which means I can't upgrade it via patches. When I downloaded the available BETA patch it messed up the installation by constantly asking after for the registration key (The one provided on the box the game informs is not valid). Wondering what I'm doing wrong and why there isn't any sticky threads detailing this?

If you get no joy here mate, it is always best to drop [email protected] a line. They are very helpful and prompt. If you don't recieve a ticket back in a reply email from SD be sure to drop them another line.

Once you have your ticket for the problem, sit tight mate, like i said SD are very good with support and im sure they will ensure you get playing in no time.

Enjoy.

It sounds like from what you say that the 2.0 beta is not updated specailly for the EU version, so you got updated with the "normal" TA. Unless support says otherwise, you should be able to just reinstall to non-beta and hold out for the final.

As well there were some activation issues reported this past weekend, so that could be it as well. In any case, do contact [email protected] to be sure.

According to Stardock

"We do not have the Endless Universe in our system of registered games. It is offered and supported entirely by Kalypso. As far as we know, it is the same version as the regular Dark Avatar & Twilight games.

We may at some point, allow it to be added to our Impulse download manager, but at present time there is no need to do so."

Which slightly is iritating as you can't upgrade the game. You would have thought this would have been a concern when they bought the rights from Stardock... worth returning the game and getting it direct from Stardock?

The people at Stardock that are handling Impulse need to be told that there darn well is a need to do it. EU ships with v1.97 of TA. The 2.0 update is in beta now, and it is a significant one. It is also the final large update for TA, so you will definitely want to get ahold of it.

There is no way you can get updates other than through Impulse (or perhaps SDC for awhile), so if you can get a refund, then I say go for it.

Stardock informed me that

"the game should be able to be upgraded, but through Kalypso, not Stardock Central or Impulse"

As Kalypso do not posts patches on their websites this means that the game is in effeect un-upgradable.

Has anyone else experienced this problem or am I the first to take notice of what seems to be a massive fault between publisher and developer?

There are at present no updates available, aside from the 2.0 beta. We plan to have GC2EU supported in Impulse before too long though, probably around 2.0's final release.
