Terrible game breaking bug that won't go away.

(Move if in the wrong place)

Alright... so here I am, happily playing GCII.

I can not stop... the game is incredible, takes civilization to a whole new level.

However,  something went wrong somewhere, every time I start a game I win on the first turn.

It appears as though all civilizations start on my team causing an instantanious political victory (Yeah, I'm that freaking good).

Fresh install didn't fix it.

Please help. Please.

Rem,

I'm guessing you must be playing the 'normal' mode (vs Metaverse).  Next time you start a game, when it gets to the Opponents Selection screen double check to make sure that Relations are set to "Unknown" and not either "Team" or "Ally".  In Metaverse games, it is impossible to have relations set that high, but in normal games its possible.

That should work for ya :-)

Silverbeacher is correct. If all of your opponents are set to ally or team, then you will get a first turn diplo victory. Change that and you should be golden. Evidently, the uninstall has left behind a prefs file somewhere.

There is another circumstance which will result in what you are experiencing. Ctrl-n may  still :annoyed:   change your settings unexpectedly. The most common change is to dumb down the other civs. On rare occaisions, it can actually remove the other civs from the setup screen entirely, leaving you totally alone in the galaxy. This will also result in a first turn diplo victory.

There may also be a scenerio in play right now, which caused the team to be created...

Ahha! Thanks,

Previously, I've only played games on all random opponents. When playing all random, the team choice isn't even a visible option.

Something must have gone through and changed all of my settings...  Weird.

All better now ^^ Thanks again.
