It isnt a United States Ship, so why does all my ships have the USS prefix?

Seriously, I think letting the user choose the prefix would add a bit more flavour to the game. Pretty please?

That's if you leave your empire named Terran Alliance. As I suggested earlier, take the initials of the empires and tack on SS.

Um yeah... just change the name... I changed mine to DCMS Surveyor, etc... course the name was too long to see on the menu bar so I just took out the prefix altogether.

... suppose one can be the Organization Of Planets and your ships will be prefixed OOPS... :D

Assuming that it did mean United States Starship:

If you have a problem with it, you need to be more tolerant. In this multi-cultural world, you need to respect other cultures. It is in the designers' culture to like and promote their country through their game(s).

Saying otherwise means your an intolerant pig and you need to take a class or get social therapy.

BOTTOM LINE for me: Can this be modded?! If so I'd REALLY like to be able to change the first three letter codes to something unique for each race.

It's a nod to the original Star Trek television series. Note the KABOOM.mp3 in the game is a phaser and the shape of the survey ship is like the enterprise.

I was a little too vocal in the suggestion thread about the obsolete phaser sound. But a nod to a cultural rareity like that series that explored moral, political and emotional conflict is worthy from any science fiction effort like GalCiv.

And the overall theme of Star Trek wasn't really Americanism, it was freedom. A global concept.

IMO, Star Treck was United States centric, and it was a very political show for its time The Klingons, to wit, were symbolic of the old Soviet empire.

Simple evil Klingons did leave a bad tast in my mouth too. but there were finally hints of evolving to understanding in the series.
