Schizophrenia on the Metaverse?

I haven't successfully tried it, but can you have more than one registered 'character' on the Metaverse. That is, can you use one for submitting (say) Tiny game results, and another for submitting Gigantic game results? To state the obvious, can you try to manipulate your ranking on the Metaverse, by keeping high scores for one registered name, and low scores for another registered name? :d

You see Chris, that's why you'd make a good member of G.R.O.S.S. Pure Deviousness. I was just going to ask that so my spouse could play.

Good point. You might need to buy another copy of the game! It's not even for sale in Australia yet. All my partner wants to do is play diddly puff games like Zelda and Starfox (sigh).

Mine likes Croc, and Zelda. I was thinking you might need another full cd code. even then it might detect the common email addy and kick it anyway. We'll have to ask frogboy when he returns.

While I am obviously in no position to lend clarification on this topic, my personal opinion is that two separate names for two separate people is fine in my book, but I have strong personal reservations about people who could (if it is possible) use this to exploit the Metaverse in the manner described. But fairness is a personal guideline in the end and cannot be fully enforced by outsiders without the potential exploiter checking his own actions first. Being ethical sucks, don't it? ;)

Well, as I have written before, play hard, play fair, and let cheaters beware.

To paraphrase Kiwi Greg, you don't often see 'ethical' and 'Galciv' in the same sentence. I mean, we are usually talking genocide in this game.

I did try to change my name so I could have a really cool nickname like everyone-else. Alas, when I looked on the Metaverse I and all my scores had totally disappeared! Totally freaked me. Especially as my lofty position (which happily showcases version 1.02 for those that got it) makes me feel that I have finally done something with my life.

Slitherin:

But the GROSS crowd can be interesting at times. Besides, the misguided souls need my wisdom and balance. ;) I guess I am the black sheep of the family then. :)

Slitherin: "Perhaps you could just ignore the scores and enjoy the game....or is that too radical?"

You misinterpret me. I wanted to create a really cool nickname like "Slitherin" (I presume not your REAL name). Alternatively, I was also thinking maybe I could become Crown Prince of the Tinys like that player who has completed 30-40 Tiny games. Then I thought, would less scrupulous people (and we know they are out there) actually MANIPULATE such things.

And anyway, isn't it an ANZAC motto (in Latin) that 'If you've got, it you hold it'?

Gerakken: Actually, the white sheep. You've just sent out Kiwi friends into a bit of a spin I'm afraid. This close to Kiwiland we know NEVER to mention 'sheep' and 'family' in the one sentence.

They have no room for people who are ethical.

My one rule is don't cheat. If you don't have a clue of what I or G.R.O.S.S. are about. Point blank. shut your trap.

All I want to know is how anyone - Chris, Pont, whoever, got their "partner" to play anything. I've coaxed, prodded, primped, and massaged, but no luck - she claims games hurt her eyes! (And yes, I got her an LCD. Doh!)

Speaking of dumb, you guys know the top 5 dumbest xmas gifts to get your wife?. They also coincide with the top 5 gifts actually given.

In no particular order
1. Pots and Pans
2. Washing drying machines
3. Kitchen appliances
4. Computer games
5. Exercise equipment

Of course if she asks (genuinely asks) for any of these before hand, it's ok

Oh, ho. My "partner" ASKS for computer systems. I normally import the latest mamby pamby Nintendo machine from the States, let alone Playstation and :sniff!: Sega machine. (We stuck with the Oz X-box). For ever more I'm importing American games. The sob stories I read on USA posts and in magazines about how EXPENSIVE things are in the States. Do you have ANY idea how much EVERYTHING costs down here (apart from mutton)?

Um, yes it is. Try www.gameswarehouse.com.au for example. It's been available from them since the 23rd of April (I got it from them on pre-order in fact).

Laurie, GET OUT (push). I got my game online, but I actually want a boxed copy (and then I can Manipul... I mean have it in my hands). I'll check it out this weekend.
And either you are psychic or an Aussie. Why aren't you *flaunting* an ANZAC flag?

Pontius: Can I say away from your thread that you G.R.O.S.S. people seem to have a few *hotheads* there. We ANZACs are as placid as a family of sheep. Oh..Doh
